This standard specifies the ion chromatographic method for the determination of halogen content in electrical and electronic products. This standard applies to the determination of fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br) in polymer materials for electrical and electronic products.

4 Principle

The polymer material in the electrical and electronic products is treated by an oxygen bomb combustion method to convert fluorine, chlorine and bromine in the sample into hydrogen fluoride and chlorination. After hydrogen and hydrogen bromide are absorbed by the absorption liquid, the fluoride, chloride and bromide ions in the sample are measured by ion chromatography, and the external standard method is used.
