1 Scope

This standard specifies the principle of high performance liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry for the determination of thimerosal and phenylmercury in cosmetics. Reagents and materials, equipment, measurement procedures, calculation of results, recovery and precision, allowable difference, etc. This standard applies to the determination of thimerosal and phenylmercury in creams, creams and lotions. The detection limit (in terms of mercury) of this standard method for thimerosal and phenylmercury is. 0.3 mg/kg, and the limit of quantification (in terms of mercury) is 1.0 mg/kg.

3 Principle

After the sample is extracted, it is separated by high performance liquid chromatography, detected by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and quantified by external standard method.

Unless otherwise specified, the reagents used were of analytical grade and the water was the first grade water specified in GB/T 6682. 4.1 Thioglycol. The purity is not less than 96.0%. Chromatographically pure. 4.5 Ammonium acetate. 4.6 Ammonium acetate aqueous solution (c=60mmol/L, containing 0.1% L-cysteine). accurately weigh 4.625g ammonium acetate, 1.000gL- Cysteine, make up to 1000 mL with water and mix. After filtering through a 0.45 μm water filtration membrane, ultrasonic degassing in an ultrasonic water bath for 30 min. spare. 4.7 Mixed standard working solution. accurately weigh the appropriate amount of thimerosal and phenylmercury standards, and dissolve the volume with methanol (4.4) to prepare Standard stock solution of thiomersal and phenylmercury in 0.50 g/L (in terms of mercury) (protected from light below -18 °C, valid for 6 months).
