This Standard applies to tests for the storage, starting and working performance of proton exchange membrane cell stack in the subzero environment (below 0°C).2 Normative ReferencesThe following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition dated applies to this document. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced documents (including all amendments) applies to This Standard. GB/T 28816, Fuel cell - Terminology GB/T 20042.2-2008, Proton exchange membrane fuel cell - General technical specification of fuel cell stacks3 Terms and definitionsFor the purposes of this document, the following terms, and those defined in GB/T 28816, apply. 3.1 climate chamber Equipment in which fuel cell stack to be tested can be placed to control temperature and humidity stably as required by tests. 3.2 coolant A circulating medium which is introduced into fuel cell stack cooling cavity to exchange the heat of fuel cell stack to the external environment during the operation of fuel cell stack, featuring no phase change occurring in low temperature environment set below zero degree centigrade, and no physical and chemical effects on fuel cell stack materials.4 General safety requirementsThe general safety requirements for proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack shall be as specified in 4.2 of GB/T 20042.2-2008.5 Test conditionsWhen test is conducted, test conditions shall comply with the specifications as follows. -- environment temperature. room temperature 25°C, low-temperature environment temperatures 0°C, - 5°C, - 10°C, - 20°C, - 30°C, - 40°C. In a specific test, all parties of the test shall agree on environment temperature adopted for the test in accordance with test objective, controlling the error of environment temperature within the scope of ± 1°C;6 Test platform6.1 Test equipment and requirements The low-temperature climate chamber for fuel cell stack test and the platform for fuel cell stack test shall comply with the following requirements. 6.2 Test instruments and precisions The test instruments and precision requirements are as follows. 6.3 Test items Under the specified conditions of low-temperature environment, assess proton exchange membrane cell stack mainly in the following two aspects.7 Routine tests before low-temperature test7.1 General The manufacturer of fuel cell stack provides complete fuel cell stack for test as well as the relevant technical parameters required by the operation of fuel cell stack, including fuel, oxidizing agent, coolant, auxiliary electric energy input, auxiliary thermal energy input and so on. 7.2 Air-tightness test Conduct the gas leakage test for fuel cell stack as specified in 5.2 of GB/T 20042.2- 2008. 7.3 Operating test Conduct the normal operation test for fuel cell stack as specified in 5.3 of GB/T 20042.2-2008. 7.4 Allowable working pressure test Conduct the allowable working pressure test for fuel cell stack as specified in 5.4 of GB/T 20042.2-2008. 7.8 Starting test In accordance with the starting procedures specified by the manufacturer of fuel cell stack, conduct the starting test for fuel cell stack; and record respectively. the time required from the cold start of fuel cell stack to the idle state and rated power output; the flow rates of fuel input and output; the flow rates of oxidizing agent (air) input and output; the auxiliary electric energy input; the auxiliary thermal energy input; the purging time; and the energy consumption. 7.11 Summary The performance parameters of fuel cell stack can be obtained through 7.2 ~ 7.10, including gas leakage rate, starting time and energy consumption, shutdown time and energy consumption, purging time and energy consumption, external energy consumption and so on.8 Low-temperature test8.1 Condition of fuel cell stack during test For the test items of low-temperature storage and low-temperature starting of fuel cell stack, conduct tests in accordance with test objectives under different conditions of fuel cell stack, and record the conditions of fuel cell stack as specified in Table 3. 8.2 Maximum allowable deviations for test items For the maximum allowable deviations of the parameters involved during test, see Table 4. 8.3 Test data acquisition The data acquired for the tests for gas leakage, starting characteristics, shutdown characteristics and power generation performance of fuel cell and fuel cell stack, is as follows. 8.4 Low-temperature test process 8.4.1 General In accordance with test requirements, conduct storage-starting tests for fuel cell stack at low temperature (such as 0°C, - 5°C, - 10°C, - 20°C, - 30°C and - 40°C); and the specific environment temperature is decided in accordance with test requirements. During test, fuel cell stack is operated automatically as required by the manufacturer of fuel cell stack or the starting procedures given in Annex A. This Standard only describes test methods and does not specify performance indexes. 8.4.2 Low-temperature storage test 8.4.2.1 Test procedures Conduct the low-temperature storage test for fuel cell stack in accordance with the following procedures. 8.4.3 Low-temperature starting test 8.4.3.1 Test procedures Conduct the low-temperature starting test for fuel cell stack in accordance with the following procedures.9 Test reports9.1 General Test reports shall provide sufficient, accurate, clear, objective test data for analysis and reference. There are three forms of reports, including abstracted, detailed and complete reports. Each form of reports shall include corresponding front pages and directories. 9.2 Front pages Front pages shall give the following information. 9.3 Table of content Each form of reports shall be provided with corresponding table of content. 9.4 Abstracted reports Abstracted reports shall include the following information. 9.5 Detailed reports The detailed reports shall provide the following information, in addition to the content of abstracted reports. ......Source: Above contents are excerpted from the full-copy PDF -- translated/reviewed by: www.ChineseStandard.net / Wayne Zheng et al.
