1 Scope

This Standard stipulates the terms, definitions, classification, codes, designation representation methods, order content, dimensions, shapes, weights, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of continuously hot-dip zinc, zinc-iron alloy, zinc-aluminum alloy and aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheet and strip (hereinafter referred to as steel sheet and strip). This Standard is applicable to steel sheets and strips (with the thickness of 0.20 mm ~ 6.0 mm) for the automotive, construction and household appliance industry, etc.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 3.1 Hot-dip Zinc Coating Hot-dip zinc coating refers to pure zinc coating obtained by immersing pretreated steel strip in molten zinc solution on continuous hot-dip zinc production line. NOTE. in the molten zinc solution, zinc content is not less than 99%. 3.2 Hot-dip Zinc-iron Alloy Coating Hot-dip zinc-iron alloy coating refers to zinc-iron alloy coating obtained by immersing pretreated steel strip in molten zinc solution on continuous hot-dip zinc production line. NOTE. in the molten zinc solution, zinc content is not less than 99%. Through alloying treatment process, form zinc-iron alloy layer on the entire coating, and iron content in the alloy coating is generally. 8% ~ 15%. 3.3 Hot-dip Zinc-aluminum Alloy Coating Hot-dip zinc-aluminum alloy coating refers to coating obtained by immersing pretreated steel strip in molten zinc-aluminum alloy solution on continuous hot-dip zinc aluminum production line. NOTE. in the molten zinc aluminum alloy solution, the mass fraction of aluminum is approximately 5%; contain a small amount of rare earth; the remaining ingredient is zinc. 3.4 Hot-dip Aluminum-zinc Alloy Coating Hot-dip aluminum-zinc alloy coating refers to coating obtained by immersing pretreated steel strip in molten aluminum-zinc alloy solution on continuous hot-dip aluminum-zinc production line. 3.5 Interstitial Free Steel Interstitial free steel refers to a type of steel, which adds an appropriate amount of titanium or niobium to ultra-low carbon steel, so that the carbon and nitrogen interstitial atoms in the steel are completely fixed into carbide and nitride, and no interstitial atom exists in the steel. 3.6 High Strength Interstitial Free Steel High strength interstitial free steel refers to steel which adds a certain amount of strengthening elements, such as. phosphorus, manganese and silicon, to interstitial free steel, so that the steel has high strength and can maintain good formability. 3.7 Bake Hardening Steel Bake hardening steel refers to a type of steel, which retains a certain amount of solid dissolved carbon and nitrogen atoms, and can enhance the strength by adding strengthening elements, such as. phosphorus and manganese; after processing and baking at a certain temperature, the yield strength is further enhanced due to age hardening.

4 Designation Representation Methods, Classification and Codes

4.1 Designation Representation Methods 4.1.1 General The designation of steel sheet and strip is constituted of five parts. product purpose code, steel grade code (or serial number), steel type characteristic (if any), hot-dip code (D) and coating type code. Specifically speaking, hot-dip code (D) and coating type code shall be connected by a plus “+”. 4.1.2 Purpose code Purpose codes are as follows. 4.1.3 Steel grade code (or serial number) Steel grade codes are as follows. 4.1.4 Steel type characteristic Generally speaking, steel type characteristic is expressed with 1 ~ 2 letters. Characteristic codes are as follows. 4.1.5 Hot-dip code Hot-dip code is expressed in “D”. 4.1.6 Coating type code Pure zinc coating is expressed in “Z”; zinc-iron alloy coating is expressed in “ZF”; zinc- aluminum alloy coating is expressed in “ZA”; aluminum-zinc alloy coating is expressed in “AZ”. 4.2 Examples of Designation Example 1.DC57D+ZF It signifies that product purpose is flat steel for cold forming; substrate is stipulated to be cold-rolled substrate; steel grade serial number is 57; hot-dip zinc-iron alloy coated product. 4.3 Designations and Steel Type Characteristics 4.4 Classification and Codes by Surface Quality In accordance with surface quality, the classification and codes of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the stipulations in Table 2. 4.5 Classification and Codes by Type and Surface Structure of Coating, and Surface Treatment 4.5.1 In accordance with the type and surface structure of coating, and surface treatment, the classification and codes of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the Designation Steel Type Characteristic 4.5.2 Please refer to Appendix B for an introduction and selection guide to the types of coating.

5 Order Content

5.1 Contracts or orders which order products in accordance with this Standard shall include the following content. 5.2 If order contract does not indicate specific requirements for dimensions, unevenness accuracy, surface treatment type, surface quality, surface structure and packaging mode, then, the supply-side shall supply in accordance with the common accuracy of dimensions and unevenness; surface treatment. oiling (O); surface quality level. common level of surface (FA) in GB/T 25052-2010, and the surface structure and packaging mode appointed by the supply-side. If order contract does not indicate the internal diameter of steel strip, then, it shall be selected by the supply-side.

6 Dimensions, Shapes and Weights

6.1 Dimensions 6.1.1 The range of nominal dimensions of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the stipulations in Table 4.Through the negotiation between the demand-side and the supply-side, other dimensions of steel sheet and strip may also be provided. Longitudinally cut steel strip refers to product obtained by longitudinally cutting steel strip (master strip). Unless it is otherwise stipulated, steel strip includes longitudinally cut steel strip. 6.1.2 The nominal thickness of steel sheet and strip includes the thickness of substrate and the thickness of coating. 6.2 Dimensions, Shapes and Allowable Deviations The dimensions, shapes and allowable deviations of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the stipulations in GB/T 25052-2010.Specifically speaking, the thickness tolerance of steel sheet and strip with the designation of DX51D+Z, DX51D+ZF, DX51D+ZA, DX51D+AZ, S550GD+Z, S550GD+ZF, S550GD+ZA, S550GD+AZ shall comply with the stipulations in Table 2 in GB/T 25052-2010; unevenness shall comply with the stipulations in Table 9 in GB/T 25052-2010. 6.3 Weights Steel sheet shall be delivered in accordance with the theoretical weight or actual weight. The calculation method for theoretical weight shall comply with the stipulations in Appendix C. Generally speaking, steel strip shall be delivered in accordance with the actual weight.

7 Technical Requirements

7.1 Chemical Composition The chemical composition (smelting analysis) of steel may take the stipulations in Item Nominal Dimensions 7.2 Smelting Method Steel should adopt oxygen converter or electric furnace for smelting. Unless it is otherwise stipulated, the mode of smelting shall be selected by the supply-side. 7.3 Delivery State Steel sheet and strip shall receive hot-dip or hot-dip and flattening (or finishing), then, be delivered. 7.4 Mechanical Properties 7.5 Stretcher Strain Marks 7.5.1 The limitation period of stretcher strain marks of various designations of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the stipulations in Table 14.The limitation period of stretcher strain marks shall be calculated since the date that manufacture is completed. Within the limitation period of stretcher strain marks, the supply-side shall guarantee that stretcher strain marks will not emerge. 7.5.2 If there are special requirements for stretcher strain marks, they shall be negotiated during the ordering and indicated in the contract. 7.6 Coating Adhesiveness Coating adhesiveness shall be tested with appropriate test methods. Unless it is otherwise stipulated, test methods shall be selected by the supply-side. 7.7 Coating Mass 7.7.1 The nominal coating mass range that can be supplied shall comply with the stipulations in Table 15.Through the negotiation between the demand-side and the supply-side, other coating masses may also be provided. 7.7.2 The recommended nominal coating masses and corresponding coating codes shall comply with the stipulations in Table 16.Through the negotiation between the 7.8 Surface Structure of Coating 7.8.1 The surface structure of coating of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the stipulations in Table 18. 7.8.2 In terms of pure zinc coating, when the surface structure is requested to be obvious spangle, it shall be indicated in ordering. When products with the coating surface structure of common spangle cannot satisfy user’s requirements for the quality of surface appearance, products with the surface structure of small spangle, or, spangle free surface structure may be ordered. 7.9 Surface Treatment 7.10 Surface Quality 7.10.1 On the surface of steel sheet and strip, there shall be no defects that would affect the usage, such as. skip platin, peeling of coating and visible cracks, etc. On the edges of untrimmed steel strip, tiny cracks and white edges may be allowed to exist on the zinc coating. 7.10.4 The control range and inspection methods for surface roughness (Value Ra) may be negotiated during the ordering. The requirements for roughness are inapplicable to surface that has not received finishing treatment (surface quality level. FA). 7.11 Special Requirements If the demand-side requests, through the negotiation between the demand-side and the supply-side, the corrosion resistance of steel sheet may be evaluated. The test methods and evaluation indicators shall be negotiated during the ordering and indicated in the contract.

8 Test Methods

8.1 Generally speaking, the chemical composition test of steel shall be conducted in accordance with the methods in GB/T 4336, GB/T 20123, GB/T 20125 and GB/T 20126, and universal chemical analysis methods. The arbitration shall be conducted in accordance with the stipulations in GB/T 223.5, GB/T 223.9, GB/T 223.12, GB/T 223.14, GB/T 223.17, GB/T 223.26, GB/T 223.40, GB/T 223.59, GB/T 223.60, GB/T 223.63, GB/T 223.64, GB/T 223.78, GB/T 20125 and GB/T 20126. 8.2 The inspection items and test methods of each lot of steel sheets and strips shall comply with the stipulations in Table 20.

9 Inspection Rules

9.1 The inspection and acceptance inspection of steel sheet and strip shall be conducted by the supply-side’s quality supervision and inspection department. 9.3 The inspection items, sampling quantity, sampling location and sampling method of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the stipulations in Table 20. 9.4 The re-inspection and determination rules of steel sheet and strip shall comply with the stipulations in GB/T 17505. 9.5 The inspection results of chemical composition and mechanical properties shall be rounded off through the rounding-off and comparison method. The rules of rounding- off for numerical values shall comply with the stipulations in GB/T 8170. ......
