Limits and test method of magnetic and electric field strength from electric vehicles1 ScopeThis Standard specifies the limits of the electric field and magnetic field emission intensity and the test methods for the vehicles. The test frequency shall be within the range of 150kHz to 30MHz. This Standard is applicable to the blade electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles and other types of electric vehicles.2 Normative referencesThe following documents are essential to the application of this document. An outdoor test site (OTS) can be selected for testing. The site shall comply with the6 Test instruments6.1 General The measuring instrument shall meet the requirements of GB/T 6113.101.The background noise of the measuring instrument shall be at least 6dB lower than the limit. Note. When using a passive antenna, a preamplifier can be added between the antenna and the scanning receiver for the realization of 6dB background noise. PAY attention to the overload characteristics of the amplifier and receiver. It is recommended to use an antenna with an active matching unit. No additional preamplifier is required. 6.2 Parameters of the scanning receiver The parameter settings of the scanning receiver’s bandwidth, step size and dwell time are shown in Table 3. 6.3 Antenna The antenna shall meet the requirements of GB/T 6113.104.The following antennas apply to this Standard. a) electric field antenna. 1m long monopole antenna, installed perpendicular to the ground, and equipped with an antenna matching unit; b) magnetic field antenna. electrostatically-shielded loop antenna with a diameter of 60cm. Note. Monopolar antenna and loop antenna products with known antenna correction factors can be used. The attenuation / gain between the antenna and the receiver shall be properly corrected.7 Test arrangement7.1 Electric field antenna grounding The matching unit shall be mounted on the ground plane to minimize the ground inductance. If an outdoor test site (OTS) is used, the grounding grid recommended by the manufacturer shall be placed on the ground and connected to a ground rod with a length of at least 2m to ensure that the inductance is minimal. It is not permissible to use a floating grounding grid that is grounded at the receiver end via an antenna cable. 7.2 Position of the electric field antenna The monopole antenna is placed on the ground, 3m ± 0.03m from the nearest part of the vehicle. As shown in Figure 3, the four positions of the antenna are as follows. — Front and rear positions of the vehicle, and located on the center line of the vehicle; — Left and right sides of the vehicle, and located on the center line between the front and rear axles. 7.3 Position of the magnetic field antenna The center of the loop antenna is 1.3m ± 0.05m from the ground and 3m ± 0.03m from the nearest part of the vehicle. The support of the loop antenna shall be able to realize the two polarization directions of the loop antenna. The direction of polarization (also the direction of the maximum response of the loop antenna) is expressed in the direction of the magnetic field vector perpendicular to the plane of the loop. As shown in Figure 4, the direction of the loop antenna is.8 Test procedures8.1 Default operating conditions The operating modes of the vehicle are shown in Table 4.In all operating modes, the electric drive system shall be in drive mode. Deviations from the operating modes shall be documented in details in the test report. 8.2 Test steps Preliminary observations can be made before the test. REFER to Annex B for specific methods. The test steps are as follows. a) SET the road load according to the full load conditions of the vehicle. RUN the vehicle at a stable speed of 40km/h. b) ARRANGE the monopole antenna according to the requirements of Subclause 7.2.RECORD the electric field measurement data. c) ARRANGE the loop antenna according to the requirements of Subclause 7.3.RECORD the measurement data in two directions of the magnetic field. d) DETERMINE the maximum emission direction based on the maximum result of measurement relative to the limits in Steps b) and c). If the highest level of the two different sides of the vehicle is substantially equal, then one of the sides may be selected as the maximum radiation direction. e) RUN the vehicle in accordance with the operating mode in Table 4. f) SCAN the peaks of the electric field and magnetic field on the maximum emission side of the vehicle. 8.3 Test report The test report shall record the instrument settings, the maximum emission side of the vehicle, the operating modes of the vehicle, etc.Annex A(Informative) Limit derivation A.1 Information on the electric field limits The recommended limit for the electric field intensity of the broadband peak pulse is initially defined as the limit of the 10m measurement distance. The bandwidth is normalized to 1kHz at 20MHz. The limit is 12dB (μV/m) and is inversely proportional to the frequency. SEE Formula (A.1) for fundamental research.Annex B(Informative) Preliminary observation Before the emission measurement on the dynamometer, the electric vehicle can be operated on the road surface, and the relationship between the electromagnetic radiation and the operating mode of the electric vehicle is preliminarily subjectively observed by the listening of the weak medium-wave signal channel (long-wave signals can be used if the vehicle can listen for long- wave signals). Preliminary observations can be performed by using the vehicle’s built-in antenna and radio, or a temporary reception system consisting of a monopole antenna and a radio receiver mounted on the roof. When using the temporary receiving system, PAY attention to the grounding of antenna and car body. It is advisable to operate the radio receiver by using a separate battery. Preliminary observations shall be made during the day, with at least three weak signal channels selected throughout the band. ......Source: Above contents are excerpted from the full-copy PDF -- translated/reviewed by: www.ChineseStandard.net / Wayne Zheng et al.
