1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and Accompanying files. This document applies to lanthanum metal produced by molten salt electrolysis and thermal reduction methods. It is mainly used as special steels, non-ferrous metals, hydrogen storage materials, and magnets. It is an important additive or alloying element for reactive materials, and can also be used as a reducing agent for the preparation of other rare earth metals. This document also applies to metal lanthanum powder produced by hydrogenation-dehydrogenation method using lanthanum metal as raw material, which is mainly used for functions in the electronics industry.
