Hardware for furniture -- Guide rails
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods,
inspection rules, markings, instructions for use, packaging, transportation,
storage of guide rails.
This standard applies to drawer's guide rails. Other guide rails and extension
elements may refer to this standard.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For
the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable
to this document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including
all the amendments) are applicable to this standard.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Catch device
A device that holds or attaches a part in a certain position.
Note: The opening of catch device does not require auxiliary actions, such as
magnetic attraction OR a mechanical device that automatically closes.
3.2
Extension element
Parts that can be pushed in and pulled out, such as drawers, hanging file
bags, keyboard trays.
5.2.1 Loading requirements
In the static load test, the loading speed shall be as slow as possible, to ensure
that the additional dynamic load is negligible. Unless otherwise specified, each
load applied shall be maintained for 10 s ~ 15 s.
In the durability test, the loading speed shall ensure that no dynamic heating
will occur.
Note: The applied force can be replaced by mass. The conversion relationship is that:
10 N is equivalent to 1 kg.
5.2.2 Accuracy
Unless otherwise specified, the following measurement accuracy shall be used:
- Loading force: ±5% of the rated value;
- Speed: ±5% of the rated value;
- Mass: ±1% of rated value;
- Size: ±1 mm;
- Angle: ±2°;
- Position of loading pad and impact steel plate: ±5 mm.
5.2.3 Loading pad
It is a rigid disc, which has a diameter of 100 mm AND is edge chamfered of 12
mm. The loading surface is flat. If it is restricted by the use space, it may use a
loading pad which has a diameter of 50 mm.
5.2.4 Slam-closing or slam-opening test device for drawer's guide rail
For the test device for the slam-closing or slam-opening of drawer's guide rail,
see Appendix A.
5.2.5 Glass marbles
It is a solid glass ball, which has a diameter of 10 mm ~ 15 mm. They shall be
packed in a large flexible bag, so that they can move in the bag during the test.
5.2.6 Load of file bag
The hanging file bag shall use printing paper OR a similar substitute as shown
in Figure 1.

Figure A.2).
5.6 Corrosion resistance test
The corrosion resistance test shall be carried out in accordance with the
provisions of QB/T 3826.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Type inspection items
All items in Chapter 4 of this standard are type inspection items.
6.2 Type inspection shall be carried out in one of the following situations:
a) During formal production, inspection shall be carried out regularly; the
inspection period is generally 1 year;
b) When the raw and auxiliary materials AND their production processes
undergo major changes;
c) When the production is resumed after long term suspension;
d) Trial type appraisal of new or old products;
e) When the quality supervision agency proposes type inspection
requirements.
6.3 Sampling rules
Within one inspection cycle, randomly select 6 samples from the recently
produced products, wherein 3 samples are submitted for inspection AND 3 are
retained for reference.
6.4 Inspection procedures
The test is carried out in accordance with the steps which are specified in this
standard.
6.5 Judgment of inspection results
When the results of all inspection items meet the requirements specified in this
standard, the product is determined to be a qualified product. Those failing to
meet the requirements of qualified products are disqualified products.
6.6 Re-inspection rules
If the product fails in the type inspection, it may use the retained standby sample
for re-inspection. It shall follow the provisions of 6.5 to make judgement. In the
inspection report, indicate "qualified in reinspection" or "disqualified in
reinspection".
7 Markings, instructions for use, packaging,
transportation, storage
7.1 Markings
The product marking shall include at least the following content:
a) Product name, specification and model;
b) The number of implemented standard;
c) Inspection certificate and production date;
d) The Chinese name and address of the manufacturer.
7.2 Instructions for use
Product's instruction for use should be compiled with reference to GB 5296.6.
The content shall at least include:
a) Product name, specification model, number of implemented standard,
grade;
b) Loading capacity;
c) The name of the main raw and auxiliary materials of the product, as well
as the location of use;
d) The type of furniture to which the product is applicable (such as household
or commercial);
e) Technical requirements and considerations for product installation and
adjustment;
f) Product's use method and considerations;
g) Product failure analysis and troubleshooting, maintenance methods.
