technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules, usage characteristics and
packaging of extruded polyvinyl chloride and cross-linked polyethylene insulated,
polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene and halogen-free polyolefin sheathed control cables
with an AC rated voltage U0/U of 450/750 V.
This Standard applies to control cables used for fixed installation in control, monitoring
circuits and protection lines with an AC rated voltage U0/U of 450/750 V and below.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2900.10
as well as the followings apply.
3.1 routine tests; R
Tests carried out by the manufacturer on all manufactured lengths of finished cable to
verify that all cables conform to specified requirements.
3.3 type tests; T
Tests carried out on a type of cable specified in this standard before it is supplied, on a
commercial basis, to demonstrate that the cable has satisfactory performance under the
conditions of intended use.
3.4 rated voltage
Reference voltage for cable structure design and electrical performance testing.
4 Product codes and representation methods
4.1 Product codes
See Table 1 for product codes.
4.2 Product representation methods
4.2.1 Products are indicated by model, specification and standard number.
4.2.4 The green/yellow combination insulated cores in the cable shall be indicated
separately from other cores.
Example 1.Copper core PVC insulated PVC sheathed control cable, with rated voltage
450/750 V, 24 cores, 1.5 mm2 (type 1 conductor structure), green/yellow combination
color insulation core, is expressed as.
5 Cable names, models and specifications
5.1 Commonly used cable models and names are shown in Table 2.
5.2 The cable specifications are shown in Table 3.
6 Finished cable marking and cable insulation core identification
6.1 Finished cable marking
6.1.1 Marking content
Finished cables shall have continuous markings of the manufacturer’s name, cable
model, specification and rated voltage. The manufacturer’s name marking can be the
manufacturer’s name or a registered trademark.
All marks shall be legible.
6.1.4 Abrasion resistance
Ink printed marks shall be abrasion resistant. The marks shall remain basically
unchanged after being wiped.
6.2 Identification of cable insulation cores
6.2.1 General requirements
6.2.2 Color identification of cable insulation cores
When the cable insulation core is identified by colored insulation, the preferred color
spectrum for cables with five cores or less is.
6.2.3 Digital identification of cable insulation cores
6.2.3.1 General requirements
When cable insulation cores are identified by numbers, the insulation shall be of the
same color and arranged in numerical sequence, except for green/yellow combination
insulation cores (if any).
6.2.3.2 Arrangement of marks
The digital identification marks shall be repeated at equal intervals along the insulated
wire core. Two adjacent sets of digital marks shall be reversed.
7 Technical requirements and test methods
7.1 Conductor
7.1.1 Conductor material
The conductor material shall be annealed copper wire. The single wire in the conductor
can be untinned or tinned.
7.2 Insulation
7.2.1 Insulation materials
The insulation material shall be one of the various insulation mixtures listed in Table 4.
The maximum conductor temperature of cables with different types of insulation
mixtures is shown in Table 4.The mechanical and physical property requirements and
test methods of insulation are shown in Table 5.
7.2.2 Insulation structure
The insulation shall be tightly extruded onto the conductor and shall be easily strippable
without damaging the insulation, the conductor or the tin coating (if any).
The nominal thickness of insulation is shown in Table 6.
7.3 Cabling and fillers
7.3.1 Laying direction and laying pitch
The insulated wire cores shall be twisted into cables, and the twisting direction of the
outermost layer shall be right-handed.
Laying pitch.
7.3.2 Wire arrangement
The green/yellow combination insulated core (if any) shall be placed on the outermost
layer of the cable core.
7.4 Metal shielding
7.4.1 General provisions
Shielded cables shall have a metal shielding layer outside the cable core. Metal
shielding includes metal (composite) tape wrapped shielding and metal wire braided
shielding.
7.4.3 Metal braided shield
The metal wire braided shield shall be made of soft round copper wire or tinned round
copper wire of the same nominal diameter. The braiding density shall not be less than
80%.
7.5 Inner lining (isolation sleeve)
7.5.1 Inner lining (isolation sleeve) structure
Armored cables shall have an inner lining layer (shielded armored cables have an
isolation sleeve, which is collectively referred to as the inner lining layer unless
7.5.2 Lining material
