Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the rules provided in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives
for Standardization - Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.
This document serves as a replacement for GB/T 2977-2016 Size Designation, Dimensions,
Inflation Pressure and Load Capacity for Truck Tyres. In comparison with GB/T 2977-2016,
apart from structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as
follows.
---The size designations of tyres are added (see Table 1, Table 4, Table 6, Table 8 ~ Table
15, Table 17, Table 22 ~ Table 26, Table 28, Table 30, Table 31, Table A.1 and Table
A.2);
---The levels of some size designations of tyres are added (see Table 1, Table 2, Table 4 ~
Table 6, Table 8 ~ Table 11, Table 17, Table 18, Table 22, Table 23, Table 24, Table 26,
Table 28 and Table 31);
---The data of some size designations of tyres, such as. measured rims, new tyre design
dimensions, load capacity, inflation pressure, allowable rims and valve models, etc. is
modified (see Table 4, Table 5, Table 7 ~ Table 10, Table 17, Table 18, Table 19, Table
24, Table 26, Table 27; Table 4, Table 5, Table 9, Table 17, Table 18, Table 24, Table 26
and Table 27 of Version 2016);
---The allowable rims for some tyres are added (see Table 1, Table 2, Table 5 ~ Table 18,
Table 24 and Table A.2);
---The requirements for the maximum outer diameter and the range of maximum outer
diameter used of new tyres for special purposes are added (see NOTE 3 of Table 3,

Capacity for Truck Tyres
1 Scope
This document stipulates the representation method of size designation, size designation and
corresponding dimensions, inflation pressure and load capacity, and other relevant requirements
for truck tyres.
This document is applicable to new pneumatic tyres for trucks.
2 Normative References
The content of the following documents constitutes indispensable clauses of this document
through normative references in the text. In terms of references with a specified date, only
versions with a specified date are applicable to this document. In terms of references without a
specified date, the latest version (including all the modifications) is applicable to this document.

4.1 Ultra-light and Light Truck Tyres
Examples of the size designation of ultra-light and light truck tyres are as follows.

5 Size Designation, Dimensions, Inflation Pressure and Load
Capacity
5.1 The size designation, level, load index, measured rims, new tyre dimensions, load capacity
and inflation pressure shall comply with the provisions of Table 1 ~ Table 33; the maximum
dimensions used, static load radius, minimum distance between double tyres, allowable rims
used and valve models of the tyres should comply with the provisions of Table 1 ~ Table 33.
The data of other size designations is shown in Appendix A.
5.2 The corresponding relations between tyre running speed and load change shall comply with
the provisions of Table 34.When the load increases, the inflation pressure shall be appropriately
increased, and the increase ratio shall be negotiated with the manufacturer.
5.3 The corresponding relations between load index and load capacity shall comply with the
provisions of Appendix B.

The correspondence between speed symbol and maximum driving speed shall comply with the
provisions of Table C.1.

Provisions on the Calculation and Rounding of Maximum and Minimum Outer Edge
Dimensions of New Tyres
D.1 Maximum and Minimum Total Width of New Tyres
The maximum and minimum total width of truck tyres shall be calculated in accordance with
the formulas specified in Table 1, Table 3, Table 17 ~ Table 19, Table 21, Table 22, Table 28
and Table 32.The calculated result shall be rounded to the nearest millimeter integer.
D.2 Maximum and Minimum Outer Diameter of New Tyres
For the maximum and minimum outer diameter of truck tyres, first, round the calculated result
of the new tyre design section height to the nearest millimeter integer, then, round the calculated
result of “new tyre design section height coefficient” to the nearest millimeter integer, and
calculate in accordance with the formulas specified in Table 1, Table 3, Table 17 ~ Table 19,
