Foreword
This Standard replaces GB 4805-1994 Hygienic STANDARD for epoxy
phenolic resin coating for the internal lacquer of food cans, GB 7105-1986
The sanitary specifications of perchloravinyl interior coatings for food
container, GB 9680-1988 Hygienic Standard of phenol lacquer for food
container, GB 9682-1988 Hygienic Standard of phenol lacquer for food
container, GB 9686-2012 National Food Safety Standard - Epoxy Polyamide
Resin Coating for Inner Wall, GB 11676-2012 Anti-adhesive Silicone Paint,
GB 11677-2012 National Food Safety Standard - Water-based Modified
Epoxy Resin Coating on the Inner Wall of Pop Can, GB 11678-1989 Hygienic
standard for polytetrafluorethylene used as inner coating of food containers
and relative contents of paint used resin in Announcement about the list of
107 kinds of resins that can be used for food packaging materials such as
polyhexamethylene adipamide (No. 23 Notice of 2011 of former Ministry of
Health).
Compared with the above standards and announcement, the main
modifications in this Standard are as follows.

National Food Safety Standard -
Food Contact Paints and Coatings
1 Scope
This Standard is applicable to food contact paints and coatings.
This Standard is not applicable to paper paints and coatings.
2 Terms and definitions
2.1 Food contact paints and coatings
coated on the food contact materials and products and food directly on the
contact surface of the coating, and the coating (film) formed
3 Basic requirements
The food contact paints and coatings shall comply with the provisions of GB
4806.1.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Raw material requirements
The list of resin allowed shall comply with the provisions of Annex A and
corresponding announcement.
4.2 Coating sensory requirements
The coating sensory requirements shall comply with the provisions of Table 1.
4.3 Physical and chemical indicators
4.4 Additives
The additives shall comply with the provisions of GB 9685 and relative
announcement.
5 Others
5.2 Label identification
In addition that the label identification shall be in accordance with the
provisions of GB 4806.1, coating materials and products should also be
marked with the names of the substrates and coating materials.
Annex A
(Informative)
Base resins allowed by food contact paints and coatings and use
requirements
A.1 Table A.1 specifies the base resins allowed by food contact paints and
coatings and use requirements.
A.2 The specific migration total limit [SML (T)] and SML (T) group number in
Annex B of GB 9685-2016 apply to this Standard.
