This Part is sub-item of GB 15629.11-2003 Information Technology - Telecommunications and
Information Exchange between Systems - Local and Metropolitan Area Networks - Specific
Requirements - Part 11.Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer
(PHY) Specifications. In addition to the further higher data rate extension in the 2.4 GHz Band
must comply with the provisions of this Part, the wireless LAN and other characteristics must
comply with the provisions of GB 15629.11-2003 Information Technology -
Telecommunications and Information Exchange between Systems - Local and Metropolitan
Area Networks - Specific Requirements - Part 11.Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC)
and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications, Clause 6 of GB 15629.1102-2003 Information
technology--Telecommunications and information exchange between systems--Local and
metropolitan area networks--Specific requirements--Part 11.Wireless LAN Medium Access
Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications. Higher-Speed Physical Layer
Extension Specification in 2.4 GHz Band, as well as other national standard on the extension
sub-items.
Compared with ISO/IEC 8802-11.2005/Amd4.2005, the major technical differences of this Part
are as follows. Add relevant Chinese contents in the Clauses and Annexes related to the radio
emission.
For the ease of use, compared with ISO/IEC 8802-11.2005/Amd4.2005, the structure of this
Part has made the editorial adjustments, which can be referred to in Annex NA. The Annex NA
lists the clause correspondence between this Part and GB 15629.11-2003.
In this Part, Annexes A, B, C and D are normative; while the Annex NA is informative.
This Part was proposed by Ministry of Industry and information Technology of the People’s
Republic of China.

1 Scope
This Part specifies the high-performance extension specification of the physical layer of the
direct sequence spread spectrum system (DSSS) wireless LAN, which is a modification to the
physical layer of the wireless LAN specified in Clause 15 of GB 15629.11-2003 and Clause 6
of GB 15629.1102-2003
2 Normative References
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Part through reference in
this Part. For dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding corrigendum) or
revisions do not apply to this Part, however, parties who reach an agreement based on this
Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable. For
undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies.
3 Terms and Definitions
In addition to the following terms and definitions, the terms and definitions given in GB
15629.11-2003 are applicable to this Part.
Any procedure that attempts to update the NAV of all receiving STAs prior to the transmission
of a frame that may or may not be understood by receivers.
4 Abbreviations
In addition to the following abbreviations, the abbreviations in Clause 4 of GB 15629.11-2003
and Clause 4 of GB 15629.1102-2003 are applicable to this Part.
5 Overview
This Part, as a modification of GB 15629.11-2003 and GB 15629.1102-2003, defines a higher
data rate extension physical layer specification for wireless LAN in the 2.4 GHz band, where
the physical layer uses Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS).
6 Extension Rate PHY Specifications
All radio parts of ERP systems that comply with this subclause shall implement all mandatory
modes in Clause 6 of GB 15629.1101-2006 and Clause 6 of GB 15629.1102-2003, unless it
uses 2.4 GHz band and channel plan as specified in 6.4.6 of GB 15629.1102-2003.
