Structural design for fire protection of passenger train
1 Scope
This standard, from the perspective of fire safety, specifies the requirements for
fire protection structure, local installations, fire extinguishing installations,
passenger evacuation in case of fire.
This standard applies to newly designed and manufactured passenger trains.
2 Normative references

3 Fireproof structure design
3.1 The non-metallic materials for the structure and decoration of various parts
of the passenger train shall meet the requirements of TB/T 2560.
3.2 Train body and bogie
3.2.1 The design of the bogie and the lower part of the train body shall be
convenient for water spray cleaning. Avoid metal scorching sparks from
splashing on the non-metal parts of the train and electrical equipment when the
train is braking.
3.2.2 The layout of the interior of the train body shall be easy to clean and avoid
dead spots with dust accumulation.
3.2.3 Equipment such as ashtrays, dirt bins, tissue boxes, etc. shall be made of
metal. It shall be provided with a metal cover that can be automatically sealed.
3.3 Electrical equipment
3.3.1 Wires and cables shall be installed through metal pipes and embedded
pipes. A junction box shall be provided at the joint connection. The joint shall be
obvious and easy to see; it is easy to operate; there is no spark or overheating
during normal work.
3.3.2 For electrical equipment easily accessible to passengers, the temperature
of the decorative surface or cover surface shall not exceed 60 °C.
4.2.4 Where possible, the lights shall be arranged perpendicular to the
longitudinal centerline of the vehicle.
4.3 Ventilation system
There shall be movable fire baffles in the air duct.
5 Design of fire extinguishing device
5.1 Portable fire extinguishers shall be painted red. The method of use shall be
painted on the fire extinguisher.
5.2 The portable fire extinguisher shall be placed on a bracket that is easy to
take off and the place nearest to the location where a fire may occur.
5.3 At least two portable fire extinguishers complying with relevant provisions
shall be installed in each compartment of passenger train.
6 Design of passenger guidance structure
6.1 Sliding doors shall be adopted as far as possible for pedal doors and end
doors. Swing doors shall be used as far as possible for interior doors.
6.2 The door with locking device shall be equipped with toughened safety glass;
its size shall be able to accommodate one person to access in and out.
6.3 Every passenger train shall be equipped with at least one-third of the
toughened glass windows and reasonably arranged on both sides of the train.
