4 General test conditions
4.1 Standard environment conditions
The standard environment conditions are prescribed in GB 2918.
4.2 Specimen
The product which has been assembled and available for use can be used in a test as the
specimen. However, test piece which is simulative to the state of the product that is
actually used in an automobile can also be used if not affecting the properties of product.
4.3 Pre-treatment of specimen
The specimen, randomly selected from the products which have been placed for at least
24h since manufacturing, cannot undergo a test until being placed in the environmental
conditions as stipulated in 4.1 for no less than 4h or in other conditions agreed by supplier
and buyer if required.
4.4 Quantity of specimen
Unless otherwise specified, the quantity of specimen shall be in accordance with Table 1.
Table 1
Test purpose Quantity of specimen

Quantitative test At least 5
the specimen submerged;
e. In principle, when the specimen is taken out from different environments for each
cycle, inspection shall be carried out according to the test items in article 6.
5.2 Weathering test
Weathering test shall be carried out in accordance with QC/T 17.
5.3 Water resisting test
Water resisting test is to examine the variation of product in water absorption when
directly contacting water during use.
Submerge the specimen which has been pre-treated in the standard environment as
stipulated in article 4.1 in the constant temperature test bath at 40±1°C or actually working
temperature for at least 200h. Take it out and wipe it clean with dry cleaning cloth. Then
put it in the standard environment for cooling for 1h. Conduct the inspection to the
specimen according to the test items in article 6. In principle, the water used in test shall
be >105Ω deionized water.
5.4 Wet resistance test
Wet resistance test is to examine the variation of product brought by moisture absorption.
5.4.1 Classification of test
Tests are classified into 3 types as shown in Table 8 according to the environmental
impact to the product.

Type 1 70±2 Above 90 The product exposed at high temperature and high humidity conditions
Type 2 55±1 Above 95 General product Type 3 40±1 Above 90
5.4.2 Test methods
Pre-treat the specimen according to 4.3; then put it in the constant temperature and
humidity chamber as stipulated in article 8 for at least 96h. Take it out and wipe it clean
with the dry cleaning cloth. Put in the standard environment as stipulated in 4.1 for cooling
for 1h; examine the specimen according to the test items as stipulated in article 6.
5.5 Chemical medium resistance test
stipulated in Table 11. Examine the specimen according to the items as stipulated in
article 6.

5.5.3.3 Dropping test
a. Dropping test at room temperature
Use injector or gauze to spread the chemical medium as stipulated in Table 10 on
the surface of specimen at the standard environment. Place it for the prescribed
time duration; treat the specimen according to the method as stipulated in Table 11.
Examine the specimen according to the items as stipulated in article 6.
b. High temperature dropping test
Use injector or gauze to spread the chemical medium as stipulated in Table 10 on
the surface of specimen at the standard environment. Place it for the prescribed
time duration at the temperature as agreed by supplier and buyer. Cool it to room
temperature; treat the specimen according to the method as stipulated in Table 11.
Examine the specimen according to the items as stipulated in article 6.
5.6 Vibration resistance test
The purpose of this test is to examine the vibration resistance of product.
5.6.1 Classification of test
a. Resonance point determination test
Determine the resonance frequency and accelerated velocity of product which is
used to approximately evaluate or compare the dynamic rigidity of product.
b. Vibration endurance test
Examine the endurance of product to vibration.
5.6.2 Classification of vibration conditions.
The classification of vibration conditions is prescribed as follows.
5.6.2.1 The vibration conditions of specimen are classified into the following 4 types
according to the category of vehicle mounted with the product.
Type 1. car series mainly
Type 2. passenger car series mainly
Type 3. truck series mainly
Type 4. motorcycle series mainly
5.6.2.2 The vibration conditions of specimen are classified into the following 4 types
according to the place of product installed on a vehicle.
Type A. mounted on vehicle body or the position at the upper side of chassis spring
with less vibration
Type B. mounted on vehicle body or the position at the upper side of chassis spring
with more vibration
Type C. mounted on the part of engine with less vibration
Type D. mounted on the part of engine with more vibration
5.6.3 Test conditions
5.6.3.1 Test sequence
Firstly carry out resonance point determination test and then endurance test.
5.6.3.2 Specimen installation
The specimen which is close to use state is mounted on the vibration stand.
5.6.3.3 Vibration application method
Simple harmonic vibration in the up-to-down, left-to-right or back-to-forward quadrature
direction relative to the installation mode of specimen is applied successively but the
harmonic ratio of simple harmonic vibration should be 25% or less of vibration accelerated
velocity in principle.
5.6.3.4 Test temperature
The test temperature shall be set as standard temperature of 23±5°C in principle.
5.6.4 Test methods
5.6.4.1 Resonance point determination test
