Cermet casings of watches Part 1. Oxide cermet casings
1 Scope
This Section specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods,
inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of oxide cermet
casings of watches (Hereinafter referred to as "casing").
This Section applies to the casings which use zirconia (ZrO2) as the main composition
of Oxide cermet. Casings which use other ingredients may also reference to this
Standard.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in the
text, constitute provisions of this Section. For dated reference, subsequent
amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications (excluding contents of
corrigenda) do not apply. However, parties who enter into agreements based on this
Section are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent
editions of the standards indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of
the normative document referred to applies.

3 Meaning
Marking "fine ceramics”, and casings made of Oxide cermet, shall meet the
requirements specified in this Section.
4 Terms and Definitions
The definitions established in GB/T14256 and the following terms and definitions
apply to this Section.
4.1 Fine ceramic
The ceramic which adopts highly-selected raw materials; consists of precise chemical
composition; is manufactured according to the methods of easy-structural-design and
easy-manufacturing-control; and has excellent characteristics.
4.2 Casing
All parts which attach to the machine-core, have effect on the shape, protection, fixing,
and control of the machine-core. They refers to the watch case, back-cover, crown,
buttons, and watch-belt.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Impact resistance
After the impact test, the casings shall be no-damage, no-chipping, no-cracks and
no-other-defects; connecting parts shall be no-shedding.
5.2 Corrosion resistance
After the corrosion test for a predetermined time in Table 1, the surface of the casings
C) When the product design, structure, processes, materials have significant
changes or when the product transfers production.
D) When National Quality Supervision and Inspection agency calls for the type
inspection.
8 Marking, packaging, transportation, and storage
8.1 Marking
If casings meet the requirements of Chapter 5, it may use the following markup
language and terminology - in product certification or manual of the corresponding
watch; or at appropriate position of the watch.
English Abbreviations
all fine ceramic AFC
fine ceramic case FCC
fine ceramic bezel FCB
band with semi-fine ceramic BSFC
band with fine ceramic BFC
8.2 Packaging
8.2.1 Casings shall be loaded into a fixed and reliable box, to ensure no-collision,
no-extrusion and no-damage.
8.2.2 Packaging shall have the functions of avoiding moisture and shock, external
packing shall have the logos of "Handle with Care", "Moisture-proof".
8.3 Transportation and storage
8.3.1 During the transportation, casings shall be handled with great care, they cannot
be squeezed and need avoiding-shock, voiding-strong-vibration.
8.3.2 When casings are stored, they shall not be piled with other heavy objects.
Storage environment shall be kept dry and ventilated. And it shall be stored away from
those goods which may generate corrosive gases.
