Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009 Directives for
Standardization – Part 1: Structure and Drafting of Standards.
This Standard was prepared by reference of JIS G 3136:2012 and the actual
production situation of Baosteel.
This Standard replaced Q/BQB 612-2013 Steel Plates for Building Structure.
Compared with the original standard, this Standard has the major changes as follows:
--- Delete the quotation of GB/T 20126 from the normative references, and add the
year number of GB/T 2975;
--- Tighten the regulations on the phosphorus and sulfur contents in some chemical
components.
The Appendix A of this Standard is informative.

Steel Plates for Building Structure
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the dimension, shape, technical requirements, test sand
inspection, mark and inspection document of the steel plate for building structure.
This Standard is applicable to the steel plates for building structure manufactured by
the Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.

b When sampling is not possible at the specified sampling position, it shall be as close as possible to
such position.
7.3 Sampling frequency
7.3.1 Sampling frequency of chemical composition analysis
The smelting analysis shall be carried out against the chemical components as per the
furnace.
7.3.2 Sampling frequency of the tensile property
Each batch shall consist of the steel plates with a weight no more than 50t, the same
furnace number, the same grade, the maximum thickness no greater than 2 times of
the minimum thickness, the same delivery state. When the batch weight is greater than
50t, take two samples. When the batch consists of a single steel plate, take 1 sample.
7.3.3 Sampling frequency of impact property
Each batch shall consist of the steel plates with the same furnace number, the same
grade, the same delivery state. Sample shall take from the thickest steel plate in the
batch.
7.3.4 Sampling frequency of through-thickness property
When the delivery state is the heat treatment, each batch consists of the same rolling
mother board of the same heat treatment system. When the delivery state is not heat
treatment, each batch consists of the same rolling mother board.
7.3.5 Through the negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, the batching
rules can be determined otherwise.
7.4 Reinspection
7.4.1 Reinspection of impact test
If the impact test results do not meet the specified requirements, the single-sheet steel
plate that has been tested disqualified shall not be accepted. The steel plates with the
same thickness as the sampling steel plate shall be submitted for impact test and
acceptance one by one. The new batch consisting of the steel plates with other
thickness shall be submitted for impact test and acceptance.
7.4.2 Reinspection of through-thickness property
If the average value of the 3 samples of the through-thickness property or certain single
value does not conform the provisions of Table 8, take another 3 samples from the
same sample billet for reinspection. When the average value of the 6 samples or single
