This standard is formulated for the impact on human health and the environment during use and disposal, and the promotion of the use of environmentally friendly products.
This standard sets forth requirements for toxic and hazardous substances in the inkjet cartridge and environmental design, recycling and reuse, and public information.
This standard refers to the standard of the "Environmental Mark Type No. 142" "Ink Cartridge Version 1.0.2008" of the Environmental Labeling Bureau of the Japan Environmental Association.

Environmental Labeling Product Technical Requirements
1 Scope of application
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic requirements, technical contents and inspection methods of inkjet cartridge environmental labeling products.
This standard applies to inkjet cartridges using inkjet imaging technology equipment, including new inkjet cartridges and remanufactured inkjet cartridges.
This standard does not apply to inkjet inkjet equipment used for continuous printing speeds greater than 60 pages/min and printing speeds greater than 70 pages/min.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
3.1
Inkjet cartridge
A component that provides ink for devices that use inkjet printing technology.
3.2
New inkjet cartridge new ink-jet cartridge
Newly manufactured inkjet cartridges from new parts or parts made of new parts and guaranteed to have the same quality as new parts.
3.3
Remanufactured ink-jet cartridge
After use, the inkjet cartridge is cleaned, repaired or replaced, reassembled, filled, etc. to restore the original function of the inkjet cartridge.

Use reuse again
The waste product or its components, components continue to be used or cleaned, repaired and continue to be used for the original purpose.

A physical mixture of two or more polymers having different molecular structures.
4 basic requirements
4.1 Product quality should meet the requirements of the corresponding product quality standards.
4.2 Pollutant emissions from product manufacturing enterprises shall comply with the requirements of national or local pollutant discharge standards.
4.3 Product manufacturers should strengthen clean production in the production process.
5 Technical content
5.1 Product Environmental Design Requirements
5.1.1 The components, structures and functions used in the design of the product shall not impede the reuse of the product.
5.1.2 The recyclability of the new inkjet cartridge should be above 95% (mass fraction and the quality of the ink should be removed).
5.1.3 Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) or chlorinated alkanes (specifically referred to as chain carbon) shall not be used in the product.

5.2 Plastic parts requirements Note 1

5.3 Ink requirements
The ink used in the product should meet the HJ 567 ink requirements.
5.4 Requirements for release of hazardous substances
The total volatile organic compound (TVOC) release rate of the color inkjet cartridge during operation shall not exceed 18 mg/h; monochrome inkjet boxers

5.5 Recycling and disposal
5.5.1 The enterprise shall establish a product recycling system for recycling its own products for reuse or recycling;

5.7 Production process requirements
5.7.1 CFCs, carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and 1,1,1-trichloroethane (C2H3Cl3) shall not be used in the production process.

5.7.2 Remanufactured inkjet cartridge manufacturers should remove the original label of the inkjet cartridge.
5.8 Public Information Requirements
The following information should be included in the product description.
a) the name of the product;
b) company name (or company product brand name);
c) contact information;
d) product recovery information;
e) a new mark on the remanufactured inkjet cartridge and its outer packaging that is clearly distinguishable from the original mark, indicating the regenerative words;
f) product use methods, recommendations for disposal of products and residual inks therein;
g) The product cannot be forcibly opened, it should be prevented from coming into contact with the skin due to improper operation, and when the skin is in contact with the ink.

6 Test methods
6.1 Technical content The detection of volatile organic compounds (TVOC) in 5.4 is carried out in accordance with the method specified in HJ/T 424-2008.
