Green Product Assessment - Detergents
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the assessment requirements, and determination bases and
rules for green assessment of detergent products.
This Standard is applicable to the green product assessment of detergents, such as:
soaps, powder or other solid detergents, liquid detergents, and detergents for other
purposes.
This Standard is not applicable to dry-cleaning cleaning products with organic solvents
as the main component, or some industrial detergents produced for special purposes.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1 Soaps
Soaps refer to blocky or flaky detergents made from animal and vegetable oils and fats
as the raw material, through various chemical and physical treatments, with fatty acid
salts as the main component.
NOTE: commercialized products are mainly laundry soaps (including transparent laundry
soaps) and toilet soaps.
3.2 Powder or Other Solid Detergents
Powder or other solid detergents refer to powdered, striped, blocky, flaky or other solid
detergent products that are combined by surfactants and some organic or / and
inorganic additives in a certain formula ratio.
NOTE: including laundry soap powder compounded with surfactants and soap ingredients.
3.3 Liquid Detergent
Liquid detergent refers to liquid detergent product mixed by water, surfactants and a
small amount of organic or / and inorganic additives in a certain formula ratio.
4 Assessment Requirements
4.1 Product Classification
In accordance with product processing technology, detergent products are divided into
soaps, powder or other solid detergents and liquid detergents.
4.2 Basic Requirements
4.2.1 The pollutant discharge condition of the product manufacturer shall comply with
Appendix A
(normative)
Sampling Monitoring Method, Index Calculation Method and Inspection Method
A.1 Sampling Monitoring Method
The sampling of the various indexes involved in this Standard shall be executed in
accordance with the standard monitoring methods specified by the state. The
wastewater pollutant production index refers to the index before the end treatment,
which shall be accumulated after the monitoring or installation in each workshop. All
indexes are averaged in accordance with the actually measured data of the sampling
times. The enterprise’s raw materials, freshwater intake and energy consumption,
product output and process energy consumption are all subject to monthly or annual
reports.
A.2 Calculation Method and Inspection Method
A.2.1 Alkali consumption per unit (calculated as 100% NaOH)
During the soap production process, the consumption of alkali (calculated as 100%
NaOH) used in the production of 1 ton of soaps (converted into 72% fatty acid) shall
be calculated in accordance with Formula (A.1):
Where,
Mgd---the consumption of alkali (calculated as 100% NaOH) used in the production of
each ton of soaps, expressed in (kg/t);
Mgx---within a certain measurement time (usually one year), the consumption of alkali
(calculated as 100% NaOH), expressed in (kg);
Mc---within the same measurement time (usually one year), the output of soaps,
expressed in (t).
A.2.2 Grease consumption per unit
During the soap production process, the consumption of grease (commonly known as
“absolute oil”) used in the production of 1 ton of soaps (converted into 72% fatty acid)
shall be calculated in accordance with the same method as A.2.1.
A.2.3 Fatty acid utilization rate
Where,
E---comprehensive energy consumption per unit (calculated as standard coal),
expressed in (kg/t);
ei---within a certain measurement time (usually one year), the actual amount of the ith
energy consumed in production and service activities, expressed in (kg);
pi---the conversion coefficient of the ith energy, converted in accordance with the
equivalent value of the energy;
Mc---within the same measurement time (usually one year), the output of detergents,
expressed in (t);
n---the number of energies.
NOTE: comprehensive energy consumption mainly includes primary energy (such as: coal,
petroleum and natural gas, etc.), secondary energy (such as: steam and electricity,
etc.) and energy-consuming working medium directly used for production (such as:
cooling water and compressed air, etc.), but does not include energy-consuming
working medium used for power consumption (such as: power generation and
boiler, etc.).
A.2.6 Wastewater discharge per unit
The amount of wastewater generated during the production of 1 ton of detergents shall
be calculated in accordance with Formula (A.5):
Where,
Vc---the amount of wastewater generated by the production of each ton of detergents,
expressed in (m3/t);
Vj---within a certain measurement time (usually one year), the average value of
enterprise’s wastewater discharge in the jth production link, expressed in (m3);
Mc---within the same measurement time (usually one year), the output of detergents,
expressed in (t);
n---the number of detergent production links, expressed in link (s).
