2011, GB 1589-2016, and GB/T 38146.1-2019 and the following ones apply to
this document.
3.1 China automotive test cycle
The time-speed curve which describes the driving characteristics of a particular
vehicle (such as a passenger car, a commercial vehicle, a city bus, etc.) in a
Chinese traffic environment.
3.2 China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle; CHTC
The general term for China automotive test cycle used by commercial vehicles
with a maximum design total mass greater than 3500 kg.
3.3 China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for bus and coach
The general term for China automotive test cycle used by bus and coach with
a maximum design total mass greater than 3500 kg, including China heavy-
duty commercial vehicle test cycle for city bus and coach (CHTC-B) and China
heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for common bus and coach (CHTC-
C).
3.4 China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for truck
The general term for China automotive test cycle used by truck with a maximum
design total mass greater than 3500 kg, including China heavy-duty commercial
vehicle test cycle for truck (GVW≤5500 kg) (CHTC-LT) and China heavy-duty
commercial vehicle test cycle for truck (GVW>5500 kg) (CHTC-HT).
3.5 China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for dumper; CHTC-D
China automotive test cycle used by dumper with a maximum design total mass
greater than 3500 kg.
3.6 China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for tractor-trailer;
CHTC-TT
China automotive test cycle used by tractor-trailer with a maximum design total
mass greater than 3500 kg.
3.7 Acceleration
The cycle in which the acceleration a during vehicle travel is greater than or
equal to 0.15 m/s2. The calculation formula of acceleration is as follows:
Where:
i - Sampling instant, in seconds (s);
v - Vehicle speed, in kilometers per hour (km/h);
T - The total duration of the cycle, in seconds (s).
3.8 Deceleration
The cycle in which the acceleration a during vehicle travel is less than or equal
to -0.15 m/s2.
3.9 Cruise
The cycle in which the absolute value of the acceleration a during vehicle travel
is less than 0.15 m/s2 and the traveling speed v of the vehicle is greater than or
equal to 0.5 km/h.
3.10 Idle
The cycle in which the absolute value of the acceleration a during vehicle travel
is less than 0.15 m/s2 and the traveling speed v of the vehicle is less than 0.5
km/h.
3.11 Acceleration ratio
The ratio of the acceleration cycle time during vehicle travel to the total cycle
time.
3.12 Deceleration ratio
The ratio of the deceleration cycle time during vehicle travel to the total cycle
time.
3.13 Cruise ratio
The ratio of the cruise cycle time during vehicle travel to the total cycle time.
3.14 Idle ratio
The ratio of the idle cycle time during vehicle travel to the total cycle time.
3.15 Average speed
The average of the speeds of all cycles during vehicle travel.
3.16 Average running speed
The average of the speeds of all non-idle cycles during vehicle travel.
3.17 Average acceleration
The average acceleration of all acceleration cycles during vehicle travel.
3.18 Average deceleration
The average deceleration of all deceleration cycles during vehicle travel.
3.19 Relative positive acceleration; RPA
The characteristic parameter which describes the power demand of the cycle
curve. Its calculation formula is as follows:
Where:
i - Sampling instant, in seconds (s);
vi - The vehicle speed at the ith second, in meters per second (m/s);
ai+ - An acceleration value of greater than 0 m/s2, in meters per square second
(m/s2);
x - The running mileage of vehicle, in meters (m).
4 Cycle construction
4.1 Overview
China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle includes: China heavy-duty
commercial vehicle test cycle for city bus and coach, China heavy-duty
commercial vehicle test cycle for common bus and coach, China heavy-duty
commercial vehicle test cycle for truck (GVW≤5500 kg), China heavy-duty
commercial vehicle test cycle for truck (GVW>5500 kg), China heavy-duty
commercial vehicle test cycle for dumper, and China heavy-duty commercial
vehicle test cycle for tractor-trailer.
4.2 China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for city bus and coach
China heavy-duty commercial vehicle test cycle for city bus and coach (CHTC-
B) includes 2 speed ranges: low-speed (part 1) and high-speed (part 2). The
cycle duration is 1310 s. The cycle curve is shown in Figure 1. The statistical
characteristics of the cycle curve are shown in Table 1. The second-by-second
data of the cycle is shown in Appendix A. For the method of developing this
cycle, see Appendix B of GB/T 38146.1-2019.
