3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1 Green Plastic Product
Green plastic product refers to plastic product which has no harm or little harm to the
ecological environment and human health, and has less energy consumption and a
high quality, and can comply with the requirements of environmental protection in the
full life cycle.
4 Requirements of Product Assessment
4.1 Basic Requirements
Green requirements that production enterprises shall satisfy include, but shall not be
limited to:
---Production enterprises’ pollutant discharge condition: production enterprises
shall be requested to comply with relevant laws and regulations on
environmental protection; reach the requirements of national or local pollutant
discharge standards (GB 8978 and GB 16297). There shall be no major safety
accidents and major environmental pollutant incidents in the past three years;
---Production enterprises’ total pollutant control: production enterprises shall be
requested to reach the national and local total pollutant discharge control
indicators;
---Production enterprises’ management: production enterprises shall be requested
to respectively establish and operate environmental management system,
analysis equipment may also adopt other equipment other than what is stipulated in
HJ/T 400-2007. However, it shall be guaranteed that quantitative relative standard
deviation (RSD) within the dynamic range is not more than 10%, and the quantitative
repeatability relative standard deviation (RSD) in 5 successive sample injection is not
more than 10%.
A.3 Sample
Sample dimension shall be: 100 mm 100 mm 2 mm.
A.4 Handling of Sample Bag
Firstly, seal up the sample bag, then, pump out air in the sample bag. Then, fill in the
sample bag with pure nitrogen (purity: above 99.99%), which occupies around 50% of
its volume. In 60 °C incubator, place it for 2 h. Then, use a vacuum pump to promptly
pump out air in the sample bag.
A.5 Sealing and Packaging of Sample
Sealing and packaging of sample shall comply with the following steps:
a) Measure and record the dimensions of sample (mm);
b) Inject sample into the sample bag, which is already processed in accordance
with the requirements in A.4, then, seal it up;
c) Fill in the sample bag with pure nitrogen, which occupies around 30% of the
volume of the sample bag, then, use a pump to pump out the air;
d) In accordance with c), conduct repeated operation twice, then, at 25 °C, fill in
pure nitrogen, which is around 50% of the volume of the sample bag.
A.6 Gas Trapping
Before conducting gas trapping, place the sample, which is sealed and packed in A.5,
into 60 °C incubator for 2 h. Maintain the sample at 60 °C for 2 h, then, in accordance
with the tubing demonstrated in Figure A.1 and the following steps, conduct the
sampling:
a) Lightly rub the sample bag, which is loaded with components, so that the gas
inside the bag can be homogenized. Slightly open the valve to squeeze out
residual gas in the tube;
b) On Conduit 1, install TENAX tube; on Conduit 2, install DNPH tube;
c) Open the valve on Conduit 1 and Conduit 2, then, start the sampling;
d) After the sampling of TENAX tube on Conduit 1 is completed, close the valve
If the analysis cannot be conducted immediately, use aluminum foil to properly pack
the trapping tube, then, store it in a cool and dark place (below 10 °C); the storage
period shall be 7 d at the maximum.
Under the above-mentioned conditions, use DNPH trapping tube to conduct the
sampling once. If the analysis cannot be conducted immediately, use aluminum foil to
properly pack the trapping tube, then, store it in a cool and dark place (below 10 °C);
the storage period shall be 7 d at the maximum.
A.7 Analysis
A.7.1 Analysis of benzene series
Conduct the measurement in accordance with the stipulations in 5.1 in HJ/T 400-2007,
namely, thermal desorption/capillary gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Prepare
2 TENAX for measurement, one of which shall be reserved for later usage. When the
first TENAX is adopted in the measurement of benzene series, if quantitative
substance exceeds the linear range, highest point of standard solution may be added,
or, sampling amount may be reduced, or, the split ratio may be altered for a re-
measurement. Conduct parallel sampling (not less than 2 parallel samples), the
relative deviation between the measured value and the average value shall not exceed
20%.
A.7.2 Analysis of aldehyde ketone
Conduct the measurement in accordance with the stipulations in 5.2 in HJ/T 400-2007,
namely, solid phase adsorption/high performance liquid chromatography. In the
analysis of each batch of samples, at least retain 2 sampling tubes (1 TENAX and 1
DNPH) to conduct gas trapping and analysis of an empty bag (does not seal or pack
sample; but contains nitrogen and goes through heating treatment). This shall be
considered as on-site blank test during the sampling process. Compare the zero
concentration value of the analysis result and the calibration curve. If this turns out to
be abnormal, then, this batch of samples shall become invalid.
A.8 Data Processing and Test Report
A.8.1 Data processing
Volatile concentration shall be calculated in accordance with Formula (A.1):
Where,
C---sample volatile amount, expressed in (μg/m3);
W---compound amount measured through trapping tube, expressed in (μg);
