This standard refers to AND adopts international standard ISO 8090-1990 "Cycles -
Terminology".
1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the classification, names, main terms of bicycle components.
This standard applies to all types of bicycles.

3 Classification and name of components
3.1 Classification of components
The components of a bicycle are divided into two main categories, namely basic
components and accessory components.
3.2 Name of component
3.2.1 Basic components
The basic components are:
Frame assembly, front fork assembly, handles assembly, saddle assembly, bottom
bracket assembly, pedal assembly, chain assembly, flywheel assembly, front wheel
assembly, rear wheel assembly, front derailleur assembly, rear derailleur assembly, front
brake assembly, rear brake assembly, chain guard assembly, bell assembly, reflector
parts.
The main types of basic components are as follows:
Other accessories: maintenance tools, various instruments.
4 Main terms for bicycles
4.1 Central reference plane P
A plane, which is formed by the center lines of the front tube, top tube, riser, down tube.
4.2 Chain line L
The theoretical straight line, that bisects the freewheel and sprocket AND is parallel to
the central datum plane.
4.3 Chain line distance b
The distance from the chain line to the center datum.
4.4 Frame size h1
The distance from the center of the middle joint to the top of the rear joint or riser.
4.5 Bottom bracket displacement h2
The height difference between the center of the middle joint and the center of the front
and rear axles, which is positive when going down and negative when going up.
4.6 Wheel base l1
The distance between the center of the front axle and the center of the rear axle.
4.7Offset l2
The distance from the center of the front axle to the centerline of the front fork riser.
