1 Scope
This Standard specifies the objects, composition of code structures, representation
method for code structures and data carriers of coding of automotive traction battery.
This Standard applies to automotive traction batteries, super capacitors and other
rechargeable energy storage devices.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the following terms and definitions and those defined
in GB/T 19596 shall apply.

traction battery code
Identification code represents main attributes and uniqueness of traction batteries,
which consists of a group of numbers and English letters having a certain information
meaning.

A code example of a traction battery pack is as follows.

- 101 (manufacturer code). the uniformly allocated code of the manufacturer of the
traction battery pack;
- P (product type code). traction battery pack;
- E (battery type code). the main body of positive electrode active material of the
battery in the traction battery pack is ternary material;
- 05 (specification code). the recorded enterprise-custom specification code of the
traction battery pack;
- 2011A11 (extended structure 1 code). the recorded enterprise-custom traceability
information code of the traction battery pack;
- 7AA (manufacture date code). the manufacture date of the traction battery pack is
October 10, 2017;
- 0000100 (serial number). the serial number of traction battery packs of the same
specification manufactured on the same day.
