Foreword
GB/T 23711, Test method for pressure vessels lined with plastics, is divided into
8 parts:
-- Part 1: Spark testing;
-- Part 2: Low-temperature testing;
-- Part 3: High-temperature inspection;
-- Part 4: Negative pressure inspection;
-- Part 5: Cold-hot cycling inspection;
-- Part 6: Anti pressure testing;
-- Part 7: Leak testing;
-- Part 8: High-resistance testing.
This Part is the 4th part of GB/T 23711.
This Part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 23711.4-2009, Vacuum test method for pressure
vessels lined with fluoroplastics; compared with GB/T 23711.4-2009, the main
technical changes, except editorial changes, are as follows:
-- In "Scope", add plastic lining materials such as rigid polyvinyl chloride
(PVC-U), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C), polyethylene (PE) (see
Chapter 1);
-- Modify the normative references (see Chapter 2, Chapter 2 of version
2009);
-- Add “Principle” (see Chapter 3);
-- Modify requirements for the test equipment (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of
version 2009);
-- Add schematic diagram of the test equipment structure (see Figure 1);
-- Modify requirements for the sample (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4 of version
2009);
-- Delete requirements for the maximum temperature of the vacuum test (see
Table 1 of version 2009);
Test method for pressure vessels lined with plastics -
Part 4: Negative pressure inspection
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 23711 specifies the principle, test equipment, sample, test
method, test result judgment and test report of the negative pressure inspection
of steel pressure vessels lined with plastics.
This Part applies to the negative pressure inspection of steel pressure vessels
lined with plastics such as rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), chlorinated polyvinyl
chloride (PVC-C), polyethylene (PE), ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer
(ETFE), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), perfluoroalkoxy alkanes (PFA),
polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF), whose
container shell material is steel.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
For dated references, only the dated version applies to this document. For
undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this
document.

JB/T 7674, Roots vacuum pump
JB/T 7675, Piston vacuum pump
3 Principle
Under the specified temperature, use a vacuum pump to evacuate the test
sample; after reaching the specified test pressure, hold it for a certain period of
time; determine whether the sample is qualified according to whether the lining
has obvious deformation or cracking.
6.2.3 For the negative pressure test that has temperature requirements, set the
corresponding temperature value according to the design requirements or the
user's requirements; turn on the temperature controller to warm up; after
reaching the temperature, preserve heat for 1 h.
6.2.4 Turn on the vacuum pump; it should reach the negative pressure value
that is required by the test within 30 min and maintain the pressure for 1 h.
When evacuating, the condition that the internal temperature of the sample
drops is ignored; observe whether the plastic lining is damaged through the
sight glass.
6.2.5 Under the specified temperature conditions, when the ultimate negative
pressure resistance is measured, gradually increase the test vacuum in the
range of 0.01 MPa; maintain at each vacuum for 2 ~ 3 minutes until the sample
lining is damaged.
6.2.6 When the interior of the sample reaches full vacuum and has not been
damaged, apply external pressure between the outer surface of the plastic
lining and the inner surface of the metal shell; use the method of external
negative pressure to simulate a higher negative pressure, so as to determine
the damage limit.
6.2.7 If the sample does not meet the requirements, or it cannot pass one of
the above steps, correct the cause of the damage, or reduce the test conditions
and re-test.
7 Test result judgment
7.1 Use naked eyes to observe the plastic lining; if there is obvious deformation,
cracking and the like, it is regarded as damage.
7.2 Use naked eyes to observe the sample; if it is not damaged, perform a spark
testing according to the method that is specified in GB/T 23711.1; if it meets the
requirements, judge that the sample is qualified for the negative pressure test
at the test temperature (normal temperature or high temperature).
7.3 The nominal value of the sample's resistance to negative pressure shall not
exceed 80% of the negative pressure damage limit value.
8 Test report
8.1 The test report shall include the following:
a) report number;
b) name of the manufacturer;
......
