1 Scope
This document specifies the order content, size, shape, weight and allowable deviation,
technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality
certificates of seamless hot-rolled steel tubes for hydraulic pillar service.
This document applies to the seamless hot-rolled steel tubes for cylinders and pillars
used in the manufacture of coal mine hydraulic support cylinders and pillars. It also
applies, as a reference, to seamless hot-rolled steel tubes for other hydraulic cylinders
and pillars.
2 Normative references

5.4.2.1 As required by the buyer, after it is negotiated between the supplier and the
buyer, and indicated in the contract, steel tubes can be delivered according to the
specific length or the multiple length.
5.4.2.2 When steel tubes are delivered in specific length or multiple length, the
allowable deviation of the length shall meet the following requirements:
a) +30 0 mm, when the specific length or the total multiple length is not greater than 6
000 mm;
b) +50 0 mm, when the specific length or the total multiple length is greater than 6 000
mm.
5.4.2.3 When steel tubes are delivered in multiple length, allowances shall be made for
each cut according to the following regulations:
a) 5 mm ~ 10 mm, when the outer diameter is not greater than 159 mm;
b) 10 mm ~ 15 mm, when the outside diameter is greater than 159 mm.
5.5 Curvature
The curvature per meter of the steel tube shall not be greater than the following:
a) 1.3 mm/n, when the wall thickness is not greater than 15 mm;
b) 1.5 mm/n; when the wall thickness is greater than 15 mm ~ 30 mm;
c) 2.0 mm/n, when the wall thickness is greater than 30 mm.
5.5.2 The full-length curvature of the steel tube shall not exceed 0.10% of the length of
the steel tube.
5.6 Out-of-roundness and wall unevenness
As required by the buyer, after it is negotiated between the supplier and the buyer and
indicated in the contract, the out-of-roundness and wall unevenness of the steel tube
shall not exceed 80% of the outer diameter tolerance and wall thickness tolerance
respectively.
5.7 End shape
The end faces of the steel tube shall be perpendicular to the axis of the steel tube; the
burrs of the cut shall be removed.
5.8 Weight
chemical composition of the finished steel tube shall comply with the provisions of
GB/T 222.
6.2 Manufacturing method
6.2.1 Smelting method of steels
Steels shall be smelted by the method of electric arc furnace plus out-of-furnace refining
or oxygen converter plus out-of-furnace refining. After negotiation between the supplier
and the buyer, other methods of higher requirements can be used for smelting.
6.2.2 Manufacturing method of tube blank
The tube blank can be manufactured by continuous casting, die casting or hot rolling
(forging). The continuous cast tube blank shall comply with the regulations of YB/T
4149; the hot rolled (forged) tube blank shall comply with the regulations of YB/T 5221
or YB/T 5222; die-cast tube blank can be implemented in accordance with the
regulations for hot-rolled (forged) tube blank.
6.2.3 Manufacturing method of steel tubes
The steel tubes shall be manufactured by hot-rolled seamless method.
6.3 Delivery state
Steel tubes shall be delivered in hot rolled state. As required by the buyer, after it is
negotiated between the supplier and the buyer and specified in the contract, the steel
tubes can be delivered in the annealed or quenched and tempered state.
6.4 Mechanical properties
6.4.1 Tensile
6.4.1.1 For steel tubes of the designations 35 and 45, the longitudinal tensile properties
at room temperature in the delivery state shall meet the requirements in Table 3. When
the steel tubes of designations 27SiMn, 27SiMnRE, 30CrMnSi, 30CrMo and
30MnNbRE are delivered in the hot-rolled or annealed state, the longitudinal tensile
properties at room temperature of the samples made from the sample blanks after heat
treatment shall meet the requirements in Table 3.

6.8 Non-destructive testing
As required by the buyer, after it is negotiated between the supplier and the buyer and
specified in the contract, the steel tube can be non-destructively tested in one or more
of the following methods:
a) For ultrasonic testing carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 5777-2019,
the acceptance level is U3;
b) For eddy current testing carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 7735-
2016, the acceptance level is E3H or E3;
c) For magnetic flux leakage testing carried out according to the provisions of GB/T
12606-2016, the acceptance level is F3.
7 Test methods
7.1 Sampling for chemical composition analysis of steel tubes shall comply with the
rules of GB/T 20066. The chemical composition analysis usually complies with the
provisions of GB/T 4336, GB/T 20123 or other general methods, and the arbitration
shall comply with GB/T 223.5, GB/T 223.11, GB/T 223.12, GB/T 223.19, GB/T 223 .23,
GB/T 223.26, GB/T 223.40, GB/T 223.49, GB/T 223.59, GB/T 223.63, GB/T 223.85
and GB/T 223.86.
7.2 The size and shape of the steel tubes shall be measured one by one by gauges that
meet the accuracy requirements.
7.3 The inner and outer surfaces of steel tubes shall be inspected visually under full
lighting conditions.
7.4 The sampling methods and test methods for other inspection items of steel tubes
shall meet the requirements of Table 6.
8 Inspection rules
8.1 Inspection and acceptance
The inspection and acceptance of steel tubes shall be carried out by the supplier’s
quality and technical supervision department.
8.2 Batch rules
8.2.1 Steel tubes shall be inspected and accepted in batches.
8.2.2 If the steel tube is not subjected to heat treatment after being cut into individual
pieces, all the tube sections cut from the steel tube rolled from one tube blank can be
regarded as one.
8.2.3 Each batch of steel tubes shall consist of steel tubes of the same designation, same
furnace number, same specification, and same heat treatment system (heat). The
quantity of each batch of steel tubes shall not exceed the following provisions:
a) 200 pieces, when the outer diameter is not greater than 351 mm;
b) 50 pieces, when the outer diameter is greater than 351 mm.
8.2.4 If the number of remaining steel tubes is not less than 50% of the above-mentioned
stipulations, it shall be listed as a single batch; if it is less than 50% of the above
regulations, it can be merged into adjacent batch of the same designation, the same heat
number, the same specification and the same heat treatment specification (heat).
8.3 Sampling quantity
The sampling quantity for each inspection of each batch of steel tubs shall meet the
requirements of Table 6.
