Foreword
This Standard is equivalent to the International Standard ISO 15481.1999 “Cross
recessed pan head drilling screws with tapping screw thread”.
This Standard is one of the national standard “self-drilling self-screw” series of product
standards. The series includes.
a) GB/T 15856.1-2002 Cross recessed pan head drilling screws with tapping screw
thread
b) GB/T 15856.2-2002 Cross recessed countersunk head drilling screws
c) GB/T 15856.3-2002 Cross recessed raised countersunk head drilling screws with
tapping screw thread
d) GB/T 15856.4-2002 Hexagon flange head drilling screws with tapping screw
thread
e) GB/T 15856.5-2002 Hexagon washer head drilling screws with tapping screw
thread
ISO 15481 does not specify the packaging technical requirements; this Standard has
given relevant specifications (Table 2).
ISO 15481 does not provide simplified designations; this Standard has given a
simplified designation example according to the simplification principle of GB/T1237.
Compared with GB/T 15856.1-1995, the main technical contents of this Standard are
not modified.
This Standard has replaced by GB/T 15856.1-1995 since the date of implementation.
This Standard is proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on
Fastener of Standardization Administration of China.

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the characteristics of cross recessed pan head drilling screws
with tapping screw threads from ST2.9 up to and including ST6.3.
