Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T
1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 15067.2-1994 Stainless steel cutlery.
Compared with GB/T 15067.2-1994, the main technical modifications are as
follows.
- deleted product grade classification (Clause 4 of Edition 1994);
- subdivided the appearance requirements in the previous edition into
size, shape, appearance and surface roughness and made relevant
provisions;
- modified the requirements for corrosion resistance, blade hardness.
This Standard was proposed by China Light Industry Federation.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee
on Metal Dining and Cooking Utensils of Standardization Administration of
China (SAC/TC 410).

Stainless steel cutlery
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and
marks, packaging, transport, storage of stainless steel cutlery.
This Standard is applicable to cutlery that the part contacting with food is
made and processed of stainless steel.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T
15067.1 apply.
4 Requirements
4.1 Food safety indicators
Shall comply with the relevant national standards for food safety regulations.
4.2 Size, shape, appearance
4.2.1 Size
4.2.1.1 The size of same batch of products and of same requirements shall
not exceed 2% of nominal size.
4.2.1.2 In addition to the special design, the installation gap between the
tableware components shall not be greater than 0.2 mm.
4.2.2 Shape
4.2.2.1 In addition to special design, the general tableware straight
symmetry requirements shall not exceed 1% of the full length.
4.2.2.2 The edge of the knife shall be wedge or serrated except blunt knife.
4.2.3 Appearance
4.2.3.1 The product looks clean. The main surface is of the same light,
smooth edges, without glitches inside.
4.2.3.2 The pattern, the text, the trademark shall be clear and complete, of
the same location.
4.2.3.3 There shall be no defect of which the dimeter is more than 0.3 mm
or indentation of which the diameter is more than 0.8 mm on the surface
contacting with food. For the defects and indentations that do not exceed
those limits, there shall be no more than 2 within 10 cm2; the distance
between any indentation and defect shall not be less than 20 mm.
4.3 Surface roughness
The mirror polished surface roughness Ra shall not be greater than 0.32 μm,
except those that have special requirements for surface treatment.
4.4 Corrosion resistance
The corrosion resistance shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
There shall be no more than 0.35 mm gap between metal and nonmetal.
4.10 Hollow handle water resistance
Carry out the test according to the method specified in 5.10. Hollow handle
and the joint shall not be seeped.
5 Test methods
5.1 Test of food safety indicators
Carry out the test in accordance with relevant national standards for food
safety or other national standards for testing methods.
5.2 Test of size, shape and appearance
It shall use visual inspection and universal gauge to test under normal light.
5.3 Test of surface roughness
Compare according to roughness standard sample or carry out the test
according to the apparatus specified in GB/T 6062. At the time of arbitration,
the test shall be carried out according to GB/T 6062.
5.4 Corrosion resistance test
5.4.1 Principle
Immerse the test piece periodically in a 1% sodium chloride solution at a
temperature of 60°C. When it reaches to the specified time, use a microscope
or magnifying glass to observe the size and quantity of corrosive pits.
5.4.2 Reagent
1% sodium chloride solution shall use soft or distilled water.
5.4.3 Apparatus
The apparatus is shown in Figure 1, consisting of a glass container and a lid.
It can be glass or plastic. And there shall be a plastic shelf that can rise and
fall according to the specified cycle.
7 Marks, packaging, transport, storage
7.1 Marks
7.1.1 In the obvious position of the product, it shall be marked with a clear
permanent mark. manufacturer name or trademark.
7.1.2 The product or minimum sales packaging shall have the following
marks.
a) trademark;
b) product name and specification;
c) implementation standard number;
d) manufacturer’s name, factory address, contact telephone number and
zip code;
e) stainless steel type in contact with food;
f) marking words “for food contact”.
7.1.3 The storage icons and marks on the packaging box shall comply with
the provisions of GB/T 191. The receipt and delivery marks shall comply with
the relevant provisions of GB/T 6388 and shall have the following marks.
a) trademark;
b) product name and specification;
c) manufacturer’s name, factory address, contact telephone number and
zip code;
d) date of exit-factory;
f) quantity;
g) net weight, gross weight, volume (length × width × height);
h) marks such as afraid of wet, up, careful, anti-squeeze.
7.2 Packaging
7.2.1 Inner packaging
The products are packed in neutral packaging. The plastic packaging shall
comply with the provisions of GB 4803.
