Foreword
Clauses 4 ~ 10 of this Standard are mandatory; the rest are
recommendatory.
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB 20997-2007 Limits of fuel consumption for light duty
commercial vehicles. Compared with GB 20997-2007, the main changes are
as follows.
- Tightened requirements for limits of vehicle fuel consumption;
- Used curb mass to replace the maximum total design mass and
displacement as the fuel consumption evaluation parameter.
This Part was proposed by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of
the People's Republic of China.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on
Road Vehicles of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 114).

Limits of fuel consumption for
light-duty commercial vehicles
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the limits of fuel consumption for light-duty commercial
vehicles.
This Standard is applicable to Category N1 vehicles which can be fuelled with
gasoline or diesel fuel, of which the maximum design speed is greater than or
equals to 50 km/h, and Category M2 vehicles of which the maximum total design
mass does not exceed 3500 kg.
This Standard is not applicable to special goods vehicle van, special goods
vehicle tanker, special dump truck, stake special goods vehicle, crane lift car,
special structures car and other special purpose vehicles.
