Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020
"Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents".
This document was formulated, with reference to JIS G3113.2018, JIS G3134.2018,
EN 10149-2.2013, based on the actual situation of Baosteel.
This document replaces Q/BQB 310-2019 "Continuously hot-rolled steel sheet and strip
for automobile structural use". Compared with Q/BQB 310-2019, in addition to
structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
- ADD the year numbers of GB/T 228.1 and GB/T 13299 to the normative references;
- ADD Chapter 3 "Terms and definitions";
- DELETE the provisions on the maximum thickness of hot-rolled pickled surface
steel sheets and strips in Table 1;
- ADD the designations BST700X and BST750X as well as corresponding technical
requirements;
- ADD the footnote for aluminum in Table 3;
- CHANGE the P14 specimen in GB/T 228.1 into the P17 specimen.
Appendix A of this document is an informative appendix.

structural use
1 Scope
This document specifies the size, shape, technical requirements, inspection and testing,
packaging, marking and inspection documents of continuously hot-rolled steel sheet
and strip for automobile structural use.
This document applies to carbon and micro-alloy steel continuously hot-rolled steel
strips, which have good cold forming properties, as well as steel sheets cut crosswise
and steel strips cut vertically, as produced by Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., hereinafter
referred to as steel sheets and strips. The products are used for manufacturing
automobile beams, cross beams, wheels, automobile transmission shaft tubes,
automobile axle housings and other structures.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated
documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document;
for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is
applicable to this standard.

4 Classification and code
4.1 The designation, nominal thickness, uses of steel sheets and strips are as shown in Table 1.
4.2 According to the surface treatment methods, it is divided into.

5 Information required for ordering
5.1 Users need to provide the following information when ordering.
5.2 Omissions in the order contract
5.2.1 If the surface treatment method is not specified, the product will be delivered with
rolled surface.
5.2.2 For hot-rolled steel sheets and strips, if the dimensional precision is not specified,
they will be delivered with ordinary precision, unless otherwise specified in this
standard;
5.2.3 For hot-rolled pickled steel sheets and strips, if the dimensional precision is not
specified, the thickness precision shall be delivered with higher thickness precision,
whilst the other dimensions shall be delivered with ordinary precision;
6 Dimensions, appearance, weight, allowable deviations
6.1 The thickness tolerance of B440QZR and B480QZR shall comply with the
requirements of Q/BQB 301 higher precision (PT.B).
6.2 Other dimensions, appearance, weight, allowable deviations are in accordance with
the provisions of Q/BQB 301.
6.3 If the customer has higher requirements for thickness precision, the advanced
precision PT.C given in Table 4 of Q/BQB 301 can be selected when ordering.
7 Technical requirements
7.1 Designation and chemical composition
7.1.1 The designation and chemical composition (smelting analysis) of steel shall
comply with the requirements in Tables 2 ~ 3.
7.1.2 When Cu, Cr, Ni are used as residual elements, their contents shall comply with
the following requirements.
7.2 Smelting methods
7.3 Delivery state
Steel sheets and strips are delivered in hot-rolled or controlled-rolled state.
7.4 Surface treatment methods
7.4.1 The surface treatment methods of steel sheets and strips can be rolling surface and
pickling surface.
7.5 Mechanical and process properties
7.5.1 The mechanical and process properties of steel sheets and strips shall comply with
the requirements in the corresponding Tables 4 ~ 8.
7.5.2 After the bending test, there shall be no visible cracks on the outer surface of the
specimen. If the supplier can ensure that the bending test is qualified, the test may be
exempted.
7.6 Surface quality
7.6.1 The surface of steel sheets and strips shall not have cracks, scars, folds, blisters,
inclusions, or other defects that are harmful to use. The steel sheets and strips shall not
have delamination. There must be no parking spots on the steel sheets and strips on the
pickled surface.
7.6.2 Steel sheets and strips are divided into two grades, according to surface quality,
as shown in Table 9.
7.7 Special requirements
According to the requirements of the buyer, the following special requirements can be
put forward for steel sheets and strips, after negotiation between the supplier and the
buyer and stipulated in the contract. If this standard does not specify the sampling
method, sampling quantity, qualification indicators, they must be negotiated and
stipulated in the contract.
8 Inspection and testing
8.1 The appearance of steel sheets and strips shall be visually inspected.
8.2 The size and shape of steel sheets and strips shall be checked with appropriate
measuring tools.
8.3 When selecting the specified inspection and test types for inspection documents,
they shall comply with the provisions of Articles 8.4 ~ 8.6.
8.4 The required inspection items, number of specimens, sampling methods, test
methods for each batch of steel sheets and strips shall comply with the requirements in

8.5.1 Sampling frequency for chemical composition analysis
Carry out smelting analysis of chemical composition by furnace.
8.5.3 Sampling frequency for items with special requirements
When inspection of special requirements items is carried out according to the contract
requirements, it shall be carried out in batches; the composition of the inspection batch
shall be agreed upon when ordering.
8.6 Reinspection
8.6.1 If a certain test result does not meet the standard requirements, take double
number of samples from the same batch, for reinspection of the unqualified item.

The packaging, marking, inspection documents of steel sheets and strips shall comply
with the provisions of Q/BQB 300.
