This Part equivalently adopts IEC 60695-11-5.2004 “Fire hazard testing - Part 11-5. Test flames - Needle test method - Apparatus, confirmatory arrangement and guidance” (English version). However, this Part has made some editorial modifications according to 4.2 b) and 5.2 of GB/T 20000.2-2001 “Guidelines for standardization - Part 2. Adoption of international standards”; Annex B (Informative) has been deleted; the normative references IEC Guide 104.1997, ISO/IEC Guide 51.1999 and ASTM-B187 in Clause 2 have been included in the bibliography. This Part replaces GB/T 5169.5-1997 “Fire hazard testing for electric and electronic products - Part 2.Test methods - Section 2.Needle-flame test” (idt IEC 695-2-2.1991). Main differences between this Part and GB/T 5169.5-1997 are as follows. a) The scope has been broadened to allow this test method to also simulate the effects of small flames from outside the equipment; b) ADD the requirements for laboratory fumehood/chamber (5.3 of this Part); c) ADD the requirements for timing device (5.5 of this Part); d) ADD the requirements for test specimen (Clause 6 of this Part); e) ADD the literal description of dimension (8 ± 1) mm in Figure 1 b) (9.2 of this Part); f) MODIFY the content of Clause 10 “Evaluation of test results” (Clause 11 of this Part); g) ADD the requirements for test report (Clause 13 of this Part); h) In A.3, “the temperature of the copper block to increase from 100 °C ± 2 °C to 700 °C ± 3 °C” is revised into “the temperature of the copper block to increase from 100 °C ± 5 °C to 700 °C ± 3 °C”; i) ADD the type of copper material in Annex A; j) ADD the bibliography. Annex A of this Part is normative annex. This Part was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Fire Hazard Testing for Electric and Electronic Products (SAC/TC 300). Responsible drafting organization of th... ......
