Sodium stannate
1 Scope
This Standard specifies technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs,
packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificates and contract (or purchase order)
content of sodium stannate products.
This Standard applies to sodium stannate products produced from metallic tin or tin-
containing materials, sodium hydroxide and sodium nitrate.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Standard through
reference in this Standard. For dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding
corrigendum) or revisions do not apply to this Standard, however, parties who reach an
agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these
documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced
document applies.

3 Symbols, units and abbreviations
The following symbols, units and abbreviations apply to this Standard.
3.1 molecule formula
The molecular formula of sodium stannate is: Na2SnO3·3H2O or Na2Sn(OH)6.
3.2 relative molecular mass
266.7264 (according to 2007 international atomic weight)
4 Requirements
4.1 Product designations
6.4.2.2 Each sample must be packed immediately into a dry, airtight container. Label it.
6.4.2.3 The label should indicate the producer, product name, sample number, product
batch number, quantity, analytical elements, sampling date, sampling person. Affix the
seal to the closure of the sample container. The seal must be signed and approved by
both the supplier and the buyer, waiting for inspection.
6.5 Judgment of inspection results
6.5.1 The value of the inspection result shall be rounded, expressed and judged in
accordance with the provisions of GB/T 8170.
6.5.2 If one of the test results of the chemical composition is inconsistent with the
provisions of this Standard and the contract (or purchase order), double the sample size
specified in 6.4 shall be taken from the batch of products. Repeat the inspection. If the
inspection results still do not meet the requirements of 4.2 of this Standard and the
contract (or purchase order), the batch shall be rejected.
6.5.3 When the appearance quality does not meet the requirements of this Standard, it
shall be judged as rejected according to the smallest unit (barrel, piece) of sampling.
7 Signs, packaging, transportation and storage
7.1 Signs and packaging
Sodium stannate products should be lined with plastic bags and sealed in plastic drums.
The net weight of each barrel is 25kg. When the buyer has special requirements for
product packaging, it can be negotiated by both parties. The product packaging should
indicate:
a) Manufacturer's name, address, trademark and contact number (or fax);
b) Product’s name and designation;
c) Product batch number and product implementation standard;
d) Product net weight;
e) Production date;
f) Conformity mark.
7.2 Transportation and storage
7.2.1 Products shall be stored in a dry, ventilated and light-free environment.
7.2.2 Products should be protected from sunlight, moisture and rain during
