Methods for chemical analysis of bauxite -
Determination of calcium oxide content. Part 7
Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry
1 Scope
This section specifies the determination method of bauxite calcium oxide content.
This section applies to the determination of bauxite calcium oxide content. Measuring range. ≤5.00%.
2 Method summary
Sample Melt Alkali leaching, after acid decomposition, plus strontium salts do release, suppressing interference in atomic absorption spectrophotometer wavelength 422.7nm
At the air - acetylene flame measured calcium oxide.
3 Reagents
3.1 sodium hydroxide.
3.2 hydrochloride (ρ1.19g/mL).
3.3 HCl (1 + 1).
3.4 strontium chloride solution (150g/L), pure class distinctions.
3.5 calcium oxide standard stock solution. Weigh accurately 1.7857g baseline calcium carbonate (baking 1h stored at 110 ℃ oven dried and placed
It is cooled to room temperature) in 250mL beaker. Add 20mL water, was added dropwise hydrochloric acid (3.3) until completely dissolved, excess 10mL. Boil 3min
Get rid of carbon dioxide, cooled to room temperature. Moved into 1000mL volumetric flask, dilute with water to volume, and mix. This solution 1mL containing 1.0mg
Calcium Oxide.
Calcium oxide 3.6 standard solution. Pipette 50.00mL calcium oxide standard stock solution (3.5), placed 1000mL volumetric flask, diluted with water
To the mark, and mix. This solution 1mL containing 50μg calcium oxide.
4 Instrument
Atomic absorption spectrophotometer, with a calcium hollow cathode lamp.
The atomic absorption spectrophotometer should meet the following criteria.
Sensitivity. the absorbance of the highest concentration of the calibration curve moderately poor concentration of the standard should not be less than 0.3000.
Standard linear curve. five arithmetic concentration of the standard, the difference in absorbance between the highest and the second highest concentration of the standard should be not less than the minimum
0.8 times the concentration of the standard solution with zero concentration absorbance difference.
Minimum stability. The calibration curve of the highest concentration of the standard solution with a concentration of zero times the measured absorbance with respect to the highest concentration
Coefficient of variation of the mean absorbance value should be less than 1.5% and 0.5%, respectively.
5 Sample
The sample was ground with a mortar through 74μm sieve, the sample is placed in a good research at 110 ℃ ± 5 ℃ oven drying 2h, placed in a desiccator, cooled
But to room temperature before use.
Step 6 Analysis
6.1 Sample
Weigh 0.1g sample (5), accurate to 0.001g.
