Sodium (potassium) isobutyl xanthate
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging,
marking, transportation, storage of sodium (potassium) isobutyl xanthate.
This standard applies to isobutyl sodium (potassium) industrial supplies, which are
produced with isobutyl alcohol, carbon disulfide, sodium hydroxide (or potassium
hydroxide) as raw materials. This product is mainly used as a collector for non-ferrous
metal ore flotation.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Standard through
reference in this Standard. For the dated references, the subsequent amendments
(excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Standard; however, parties who
reach an agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions

3 Requirements
3.1 Product classification
3.1.1 Designation, variety, chemical structural formula, product shape
The designation, variety, chemical structural formula, chemical name, product shape of
sodium (potassium) isobutyl xanthate shall comply with the provisions of Table 1.
contract). A quality certificate shall be filled in.
5.1.2 The purchaser shall inspect the received products, in accordance with the
provisions of this standard. If the inspection results are inconsistent with the provisions
of this standard (or the order contract), it shall be proposed to the supplier, within one
month from the date of receipt of the product; the problem shall be resolved, through
negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser. If arbitration is required, arbitration
sampling shall be carried out, jointly by both the supplier and the purchaser.
5.2 Group-batching
Sodium (potassium) isobutyl xanthate shall be submitted for acceptance in batches.
Each batch shall be composed of products of the same designation, the same status, the
same production batch number.
5.3 Inspection items
Each batch of products shall be inspected for chemical composition and appearance
quality.
5.4 Arbitration sampling method
Take 10% of the boxes (barrels or bags) from each batch of products as samples. The
batch size shall be not less than 3 boxes (barrels or bags) per hour. Then use a clean and
dry stainless steel probe, to insert from the middle of the box (barrel or bag) to the
bottom, to take samples. Mix the specimens evenly. Take out not less than 300 g. Put it
into a bottle. Label it, indicating: specimen name, batch number, sampling date.
5.5 Judgment of inspection results
5.5.1 When the chemical composition and appearance quality inspection results are
inconsistent with this standard, it shall take double amount of specimens, from twice
the packaging, for repeated inspection. Even if only one of the repeated inspection
results does not meet the requirements of this standard, the whole batch of product will
be deemed to be unqualified.
5.5.2 If the products received by the purchaser are deteriorated or damaged, due to
transportation or storage, the departments involved shall be responsible.
6 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage, quality
certificates
6.1 Marking
Each packaging container shall be marked with a color, that is not easy to fall off:
a) Supplier’s name and address;
b) Product name;
c) Product batch number and net weight;
d) The words “Avoid moisture and heat”;
e) This standard number;
f) Exit-factory date (or packaging date) and shelf life.
6.2 Packaging
6.2.1 Steel barrel packaging
6.2.1.1 The export steel barrel specifications shall comply with GB/T 325. The net
weight per barrel is 120 kg for powdery dry product and 120 kg for granular dry product.
In special cases, the net weight is determined according to customer needs. The steel
barrel is lined with high-pressure polyethylene plastic bags and sealed (sometimes the
steel barrel is not lined with high-pressure polyethylene plastic bags, according to
customer needs). Each batch of packaging barrels is accompanied by the performance
inspection result certificate of the shipping export dangerous goods packaging container
of the Import and Export Commodity Inspection Bureau; the barrel lid is tightened and
sealed with a rubber gasket.
6.2.1.2 The domestic steel barrel's specification is 200 L; the net weight of each barrel
is 120 kg.
6.2.2 Wooden box packaging
6.2.2.1 Products packaged in wooden boxes are export products. Put the product into a
container bag. The container bag is in a wooden box. The net weight of each box is 850
kg. In special cases, the net weight shall be determined according to customer needs.
Container bags shall comply with the requirements of standard GB/T 10454.
6.2.2.2 Wooden boxes and pallets shall comply with the requirements of SN/T 0273. It
shall have a performance inspection result certificate of the maritime export dangerous
goods packaging container, which is issued by the Import and Export Commodity
Inspection Bureau.
