1 Scope

This section applies to the determination of calcium exchange capacity of the zeolite. Measurement range of 280mg/g ~ 320mg/g.

3 PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD
4A zeolite Na can be replaced with Ca2 measuring Ca2 zeolite exchange capacity, in order to express 4A zeolite zeolite water softening
ability. Under certain conditions, zeolite and quantitative Ca2 adequate reaction solution, the filtrate was filtered, the remaining direct titration with EDTA standard solution
Remaining Ca2, to calculate the amount of zeolite for calcium exchange.
4 Reagents
4.1 Zinc oxide. the benchmark.
4.2 ammonia buffer solution. pH value of 10.
Weigh 54g ammonium chloride was added 350mL of aqueous ammonia (ρ = 0.9) was diluted with water to 1L, and mix.
4.3 Sodium hydroxide solution. 10g/L.
4.4 hydrochloric acid solution. 2.5mol/L.
4.5 chrome black T indicator. 5g/L.
4.6 ammonia solution. 110.
4.7 DETA Standard Solution (0.007133mol/L)
4.7.1 preparation
EDTA was previously dissolved in hot water, formulated as 7.5%. With cotton filter back. Pipette 365mL diluted to 10L.
4.7.2 Calibration
Weigh 0.2902g at (800 ± 50) ℃ in the high temperature furnace burning to a constant amount of zinc oxide (4.1), moist with a little water, add 3mL hydrochloric acid
Solution (4.4), transferred to 500mL volumetric flask. Dilute to volume, and mix. Take 20mL conical flask, add 70mL water, aqueous ammonia solution
(4.6) adjusted to pH 7 to 8, plus 10mL ammonia buffer solution (4.2), add 5 drops of chrome black T indicator (4.5), with EDTA standard drops
Fixed solution (4.7) calibration.
