Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the requirements given in GB/T
1.1-2009.
This standard replaces YB/T 042-2004 "Lime for metallurgical". Compared with
YB/T 042-2004, the main technical changes are as follows:
- In clause 4.1, MODIFY the general grade of metallurgical lime, FROM
superior grade, first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade TO
superior grade, first grade, second grade, third grade;
- In clause 4.1, MAKE corresponding adjustments to the physical and
chemical indicators;
- In clause 4.2, MAKE corresponding adjustments to the product granularity;
- In Clause 6.1, MAKE corresponding adjustments to the inspection batch
size;
- In clause 6.2, MAKE corresponding adjustments to the sampling amount;
- In clause 7.1, MAKE corresponding adjustments to the product storage time.
This standard was proposed by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association.
This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Steel
Standardization Technical Committee (TC 183).
Drafting organizations of this standard: Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Company,
Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute.

Lime for metallurgical
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods,
inspection rules, storage, transportation, quality certificates of metallurgical lime.
This standard applies to freshly burnt lime, which is used in the metallurgical
industry.

6.2.1.1 Sampling amount
For continuous discharging production, take about 5 kg of sample every 2 h; for
intermittent discharging production, take about 5 kg of sample for each
discharging 5 kg of sample. Half of the 5 kg sample is sent for inspection; the
other half is used as backup sample.
6.2.1.2 Sampling method
Use a sampling machine, a sampling shovel or a shovel, to evenly intercept the
entire material flow. For every 5 kg sample taken, the number of interceptions
shall not be less than 4.
6.2.1.3 Sample storage
The container for storing the sample must be tightly closed, moisture-proof,
placed in a dry place.
6.2.2 Sample preparation
Combine the sample taken into a large sample. Crush it, to make it pass through
a 40 mm square-hole sieve. Prepare the sample, according to the relevant
provisions of GB/T 2007.2.
6.3 Judgment rules
6.3.1 The quality inspection of the product shall be carried out, by the technical
quality supervision department, which is jointly recognized by the supplier and
the buyer.
6.3.2 The physical and chemical indexes AND particle size indexes of the
samples taken shall meet the requirements in Table 1 and Table 2.
6.3.3 If there are unqualified items in the inspection results, re-inspect the
unqualified items, by the use of backup samples. If the result of the re-
inspection is qualified, the batch is judged to be qualified; otherwise, it is judged
to be unqualified.
7 Transport, storage, quality certificate
7.1 The storage time of product t generally does not exceed 3d. During storage
and transportation, it must be dry, rain-proof, moisture-proof. The carriage must
be cleaned before loading.
