SN/T 0798-1999 Inspection of cereals oils and feedstuffs for import and
export – Terminology for inspection
5.1.1 Total length (60 ~ 75) cm, notch length (50 ~ 55) cm, notch width (1.0 ~
1.8) cm, maximum outer diameter about 2.5 cm; applicable to the sampling of
beans, corn, and feedstuffs.
5.1.2 Total length 50 cm, notch length 40 cm, notch width (0.8 ~ 1.5) cm, outer
diameter (1.6 ~ 2.0) cm, tip portion about 4cm, a solid cone. It is applicable to
the sampling of small AND medium-sized cereal, oilseeds, and feedstuffs.
5.1.3 Total length 55 cm, notch length 35 cm, notch width (0.6 ~ 0.7) cm,
maximum outer diameter about 1 cm, pointed head. It is applicable to the
sampling of flour goods.
5.2 Double-tube sampler and channel-shaped susceptor. It is applicable to the
sampling of bulk goods.
Total length 110 cm, outer tube outer diameter 2.6 cm, the inner tube inner
diameter 2.0 cm, handle length 15 cm, tip portion cone length 6.5 cm, it has
four sample flow openings, AND each opening is 20 cm x 1.8 cm. It is
applicable to the sampling of medium and small size particulate goods.
The channel-shaped susceptor is fabricated by corrugated iron or aluminium
sheet, length 100 cm, in semi-cylindrical shape, opening width 10 cm. It is also
allowed to use the sufficient length canvas to collect samples.
5.3 Sampling shovel. shovel length about 13 cm, width about 8 cm, side height
about 4 cm, handle length about 8 cm. See Figure B6 of Appendix B
(Normative).
5.4 Mechanical automation sampling equipment, mainly including.
a) Shunt type mechanical sampler. such as Gamet 6800L series D/T model.
b) Rotary riffle. such as Gamet 4500 series rotary riffle.
c) Gravity riffle. such as Gamet 5.1 gravity riffle.
d) Rotating disc collector. such as Gamet 24-digit collector.
5.5 Sample splitting plate.
5.6 Riffle sampler. including two-division, three-division, four-division riffle
sampler.
5.7 Sample splitting cloth OR suitable bedding.
5.8 Sample bag (tube). A solid, sanitary material fabricated container, which
can be sealed.
7.1 Bulk goods sampling
7.1.1 Bulk cereals, feedstuffs and oilseeds sampling
7.1.1.1 DETERMINE the sampling point.
a) Prior to unloading of shipped bulk goods, SET a point from the cargo
surface within the cabin to take the first original sample; afterwards
ENSURE that take additionally one original sample when loading &
unloading one batch. As for each original sample, it shall set sampling
point 1m away from the cabin walls within the entire cabin, AND at least
take samples from 50 points.
b) SET point based on the goods stockpiling area. Each 50 m2 is considered
as a sampling region, AND each region has five sampling points which
are the region center and four corners (1m away from edge); when
increasing one sampling region, ADD three sampling points.
c) If it is needed to take original sample from flowing goods, it shall, based
on the inspected goods mass, delivery time, and flow rate, determine the
sampling interval AND the sampling amount per time.
7.1.1.2 Sampling operation
Based on the sampling points which are determined in 7.1.1.1, USE
double-tube sampler OR sampling shovel to take samples, until finishing the
sampling of an original sample.
Specific operations are as follows.
a) Double tube sampler. USE hand to hold double-tube sampler; CLOSE
the sample flow opening; KEEP the sample flow opening upwards;
forcedly INSERT the sampler perpendicular into the goods; ROTATE the
sampler handler for about 180°C [translator notes. it should be degree]; OPEN
the sample flow opening; tightly GRASP the probe to rotate it up and
down for a few times; then ROTATE the handle to close the sample flow
opening; PULL out the sampler from the goods; UNSCREW open the
sample flow opening; POUR the collected sample into the
channel-shaped susceptor without loss. Then CLOSE the sample flow
opening; continuously TAKE samples from the second, third AND other
sampling points.
b) Sampling shovel. from below 10cm under the goods surface at each
sampling point, SHOVEL a certain amount of samples; POUR the
collected sample into the susceptor without loss; continuously TAKE
samples from the second, third AND other sampling points.
7.2 Packed goods sampling
7.2.1 Bagged cereals, feedstuffs and oilseeds sampling
7.2.1.1 DETERMINE the sampling amount and sampling locations......
