QC/T 25-2004 QC INDUSTRY STANDARD OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA Replacing QC/T 25-1992 Technical specification of automobile clutch (Technical conditions of the auto dry friction clutch assembly) ISSUED ON. FEBRUARY 10, 2004 IMPLEMENTED ON. AUGUST 1, 2004 Issued by. The National Development and Reform Commission Table of Contents Preface ... 3  1 Scope ... 4  2 Normative references ... 4  3 Terms and Definitions ... 4  4 Technical Requirements ... 5  5 Test Methods ... 9  6 Inspection rules ... 10  7 Marking, Packaging, Transportation, and Storage ... 11  Preface This standard is the revised version based on QC/T 25-1992. From the date of implementation, this standard shall replace QC/T 25-1992. Compared with QC/T 25-1992, the main differences in this standard are as follows. -- Adjust the requirements on the sliding friction torque and heat load of the clutch; -- Add the requirements on the sliding friction coefficient and requirements on lid assembly static release durability. This standard was proposed by Auto Industry Committee of China. This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of Auto Standardization Technical Committee. Drafting organizations of this standard. Shanghai Clutch General Factory (now has changed the name as Shanghai Sachs Powertrain Components Systems Co., Ltd.), Nanjing Valeo Clutch Co., Ltd.), Changchun Yidong Clutch Co., Ltd., and Suzhou Branch of Auto Parts of Dongchuan Company. The main drafters of this standard. Zhao Yongbin, Chen Xiang, Yuan Nianshi, Song Shundong, and Zhu Fupei. Technical specification of automobile clutch 1 Scope This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of auto dry friction clutch assembly (including lid assembly and driven plate assembly, hereinafter called clutch). This standard is applicable to auto dry friction clutch. 2 Normative references The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this standard through reference in this Standard. For dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this standard, however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies. QC/T 27-2004 Bench test method of automobile clutch (The Stand Test Method of Auto Dry Friction Clutch Assembly) 3 Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions are applicable to this standard. 3.1 Release travel Under specified work conditions, the travel of release finger (rod) of the clutch, from complete connection to complete release. 3.2 Release load In release procedure, the load applied on the end of the release finger (rod) of the lid assembly. 3.3 Lift Under the specified release travel, the minimum value of the displacement of all points on the work surface of the pressure plate. 3.4 Pressure plate parallelism Under the specified release travel, the difference between the maximum value and minimum value of the displacement of all points on the work surface of the pressure plate. d) The end abrasion of the release finger (rod) is not more than 30% of the initial thickness. e) All components must not fail. 4.3.3 Failure rotating speed of the clutch 4.3.3.1 When the lid assembly is under the specified test condition, the failure rotating speed shall not be less than 1.8 times of the maximum power speed of the engine. 4.3.3.2 When the driven plate assembly is under the specified test condition, the failure rotating speed shall not be less than 1.6 times of the maximum power speed of the engine. 4.3.4 Cushion resilience durability of driven plate assembly Under the working pressure, after 2.5Χ105 times of cushion resilience test on the driven plate. a) Cushion resilience shall not be less than 80% of initial value; b) There is no damage on the wave-shape disk and no loosen on rivet. 4.3.5 Torque durability of driven plate assembly After the driven plate has been gone through 5Χ106 times test. a) Limit torque is not less than 80% of initial value; b) The friction damp torque of the torque absorber shall not be less than 60% of initial value; c) All components must not fail. 4.4 Other requirements 4.4.1 The clutch shall be clean, and no greasy dirt on the surface of the friction disks. 4.4.2 All metal components of the clutch shall be anti-corrosively treated. Anti-corrosive agent is allowed on the surface of the pressure plate. 4.4.3 The special technical requirements other than those specified in this standard are subject to the negotiation between the suppliers and the customers. 4.4.4 The clutch shall be kept in according to 7.4. If rust occurs 6 months after leaving factory, the supplier shall hold the responsibility. The clutch shall be used as specified. If damage occurs when the use life is not more than 1 year and driving is not more than 3x104 km, the supplier shall hold the responsibility. 5 Test Methods Test method shall be according to QC/T 27. 6 Inspection rules 6.1 Ex-factory inspection 6.1.1 The clutches shall be checked for conformance before leaving the factory. 6.1.2 The items of ex-factory inspection are as follows. a) Lid assembly load characteristic; b) Lid assembly release characteristic; c) The assembling height deviation of the release finger (rod) and the end-face leaping amount of the release finger (rod); d) The unbalance amount of the lid assembly; e) The drag torque or drag travel of the driven plate assembly; f) Unbalance amount of the driven plate assembly; g) Work compressing thickness of the driven plate assembly; h) The torque shocking absorbing characteristic of the driven plate assembly; i) Appearance quality. 6.2 Type Test Type test shall be done, when there is one of the following conditions. a) The trial type-indentification of new product or old product transferring production; b) After mass production, when there is significant change in structure, engineering or materials which may affect the product performance; c) During mass production, periodically or after accumulating certain quantity, it shall periodically conduct an inspection; d) After the production is shut-downed for long time, and when the production is resumed; e) When the ex-factory inspection result is significantly different from the last type test; f) When it is required by the National Quality Supervision Agencies. 6.2.2 Type test items. a) Static-release durability test on lid assembly; b) Dynamic-release durability test on lid assembly; c) High speed resistive test on lid assembly; d) Friction feature test on clutch; e) Anti-adhesion test (negotiated with customers); f) Durability test on cushion resilience of the driven plates; g) Durability test on the driven plate assembly torque; h) High speed resistive test on the driven plate. 6.2.3 One sampling test shall be done for each item in the model test. 7 Marking, Packaging, Transportation, and Storage 7.1 Marking Manufacturer’s name and specifications shall be marked on each clutch, 7.2 Packaging 7.2.1 The package of the clutches shall ensure that the products will not be damaged during normal transportation.
