This standard is an amendment to QB/T 3564-1999 “Enameled bathtub”.
As compared with QB/T 3564-1999, the main changes of this standard are as
- ADD product markings;
- ADD clause 5.1 “Basic requirements”;
- ADD ceramic layer thickness requirements and test methods;
- The gloss of the cast-iron enameled bathtub is not less than 90;
- In the load resistance test, ADD the top edge load resistance test;
- ADD the drainage performance requirements and test methods;
- ADD the quantitative methods for alkali resistance;
- Only the acceptance quality limit is specified in the inspection rules. The
acceptance criteria, inspection levels, etc. adopted shall be specified by the
manufacturer or the supplier and the purchaser.
This standard does not make specific requirements for bathtub drains and
overflows, but during the design and production process, installation
requirements shall be considered.
This standard was proposed by China Light Industry Federation.
This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Standardization
Center for Daily Glass Enamel.

Enameled bathtub
1 Scope
This standard specifies the product classification and marking, requirements,
test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation and storage
of enameled bathtubs.
This standard applies to cast iron enameled bathtubs and steel enameled

3 Definitions
The definitions defined in GB/T 7410 and the following definitions apply to this
standard, as shown in Figure 1.
5 Requirements
5.1 Basic requirements
5.1.1 Blank material Cast iron bottom blanks are cast integrally with cast iron. It is suitable
for coating and solid, complete, accurate molding, there is no dense hole, crack
and other defects affecting the coating and use function. The thickness of cast
iron shall not be less than 3.2 mm from the edge above 25 mm. The steel plate blank shall be suitable for coating. The thickness of the
steel plate before forming shall not be less than 1.65 mm. If the product
structure requires, thinner steel plate (not less than 1.3 mm) may be used under
the requirements of 5.3, 5.6.3 and 5.6.4; the thickness of the skirt board shall
not be less than 1.1 mm.
5.1.2 Coating and other treatments The enamel layer shall be resistant to erosion and smooth (except for
non-slip surface), with uniform color and appearance conforming to 5.4. After the cast iron bathtub has been coated and then processed again,
its exposed metal surface shall be rust-proofed by the manufacturer.
5.1.3 Slope
The inclination of the bathtub bottom surface to the drain outlet shall be 21
mm/m ~ 36 mm/m.
5.1.4 Anti-slip
The bottom of the bathtub shall have anti-skid treatment or expressly require
5.2 Tolerances
5.2.1 The tolerance of length, width and depth of cast iron bathtub is ±7 mm.
5.2.2 The tolerance of the length, width and depth of the steel bathtub is ±5 mm.
5.3 Deformation
Deformation of the upper edge surface and edge shall not exceed 5 mm/m.
5.4 Appearance
5.4.1 There shall be no serious defects such as fish scales, porcelain peeling,

the porcelain surface shall be free of damage.
5.6.3 Impact resistance
After the impact test of the enameled bathtub, the porcelain layer shall not be
damaged within 24 h.
5.6.4 Load resistance
After the enameled bathtub is subject to a load test on the bottom surface and
the upper edge surface, there shall be no obvious deformation, cracks,
insulation layer peeling and other defects that affect the use and appearance.
5.6.5 Wear resistance
After the visible surface of the enameled bathtub has been subject to a wear
test, the porcelain surface shall be free of scratches.
5.6.6 Drainage performance
After the drainage test of the enameled bathtub, the maximum diameter of the
retained water in the bottom of the bathtub is not more than 10 cm, and there
shall not be 2 places at the same time.
5.6.7 Resistance to room temperature citric acid erosion
After the visible porcelain of the enameled bathtub is subject to erosion by citric
acid solution at room temperature, it shall be not less than grade II.
5.6.8 Alkali resistance After the visible porcelain of the enameled bathtub is subject to erosion
by sodium carbonated solution of 6.14.1 at room temperature, the porcelain
surface shall not lose its light. After the visible surface porcelain of enameled bathtubs (the flat
specimens cut from the product or the template made by same material and
processing conditions as the product) is subject to the test of 6.14.2, the weight
loss shall not exceed 0.8 mg/cm2.
6 Test methods
6.1 Tolerances
It is measured with a ruler with a scale of 1 mm.
6.2 Deformation
It is tested in accordance with the wear resistance test method in QB/T 1855.
6.12 Drainage performance
CLEAN the surface of the bathtub, PLACE the upper edge surface of the
bathtub horizontally, POUR not less than 2 liters of water from the opposite end
of the drain outlet. Then USE a ruler with a 1 mm scale to measure the
maximum diameter of the retained water at the bathtub bottom.
6.13 Resistance to room temperature citric acid erosion
It is tested in accordance with GB/T 9989.
6.14 Alkali resistance
6.14.1 Resistance to room temperature sodium carbonate erosion
It is tested in accordance with the alkali resistance test qualitative method in
QB/T 1855.
