Summary
This standard specifies the volumetric titration and coulometric titration methods for determining the water content of detergents and surfactants using Karl Fischer reagent. The measurement results include free water, crystal water, absorbed water, and occluded water. This standard is applicable to the determination of water content of powder, paste and liquid detergents and surfactant products. The volumetric titration method provided in this standard is suitable for samples with a water content of 2% or more; the coulometric titration method is suitable for samples with a water content of 0.1%; the water content is between 0.1% and 2%, and both methods are applicable.
