1 Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport, and storage of flame retardant insulation tape for EV battery. This standard is applicable to single-sided flame retardant insulation tape with plastic film (such as polyethylene terephthalate, PET and polyimide, PI) as backing and pressure sensitive adhesive uniformly coated on one side of the backing.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 22396 apply.

4 Classification

According to different backings, products can be divided into PET adhesive tape and PI adhesive tape.

5 Requirements

5.1 Appearance The adhesive tape shall be evenly wound on the core without obvious pin holes, deformation, air bubbles, wrinkles, oozing, serious gapping, adhesive hardening, slivering, impurities and other stain. 5.2 Number of joints Joints shall not be permitted for adhesive tape used in automatic battery production lines, and at most one joint shall be permitted for each roll of adhesive tape used in manual production lines. Special specifications and colors (including permittable number of joints and joint methods, etc.) shall be determined by both supplier and customer through negotiation. 5.3 Specification and dimension Product specification and dimensional tolerance shall be in accordance with Table 1. They can also be agreed between supplier and customer. HG/T 5751—2020 7.2.1 Thickness It shall be measured according to GB/T 7125. 7.2.2 Width and length It shall be measured according to GB/T 32370. 7.3 Adhesion properties 7.3.1 180o peel adhesion 180o peel adhesion under normal state is tested according to GB/T 2792. 180o peel adhesion after damp-heat aging is aged according to 6.3 conditions and tested according to GB/T 2792 method after 2 hours at room temperature. 7.3.2 Static shear adhesion Static shear adhesion under normal state is tested according to the provisions of Method A in GB/T 4851-2014, and the sample size is 24 mm X 24 mm. Static shear adhesion after damp-heat aging shall be aged according to 6.3 conditions, and tested according to Method A in GB/T 4851-2014 after 2 hours at room temperature. 7.3.3 Loop tack Loop tack under normal state shall be carried out according to those specified in GB/T 31125. Loop tack after damp-heat aging is aged according to 6.3 conditions and tested according to GB/T 31125 method after 2 hours at room temperature. 7.3.4 Unwinding force at low speed Unwinding force at low speed under normal state shall be determined according to GB/T 4850. Unwinding force at low speed after damp-heat aging is aged according to 6.3 conditions, and tested according to GB/T 4850 after 2 hours at room temperature. 7.4 Puncture resistance performance It shall be determined according to ASTM D1000: 2017 123-128. 7.5 Insulation properties 7.5.1 Breakdown voltage It shall be determined according to GB/T 1408.1-2016 5.2.2 and 10.4. 7.5.2 Insulation resistance It shall be determined according to the regulation of 11.2 in GB/T 1410-2006, the applied voltage shall be 500 V. HG/T 5751—2020 7.6 Flame retardance It shall be determined according to GB/T 15903. 7.7 Restricted substance 7.7.1 The contents of six restricted substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl and polybrominated diphenyl ether) shall be determined according to GB/T 26125. 7.7.2 Halogen content shall be determined by ion chromatography (IC) according to EN 14582-2016.

8 Inspection rules

8.1 Inspection classification Product inspection shall be classified into delivery inspection and type inspection. 8.2 Delivery inspection 8.2.1 Products shall be inspected by the quality inspection department of the manufacturer. Finished products shall comply with the provisions of this standard and be accompanied by product quality certificates. 8.2.2 For delivery inspection, the same specification and color and output per shift shall be taken as an inspection batch, and the unit shall be in roll. 8.2.3 Delivery inspection items are as follows: a) Dimensions; b) Appearance; c) 180o peel adhesion under normal state; d) Static shear adhesion under normal state; e) Loop tack under normal state. 8.2.4 Delivery inspection shall be carried out according to GB/T 2828.1. Special inspection level S-2 shall be adopted, and one-time sampling scheme for normal inspection shall be adopted. Acceptance quality limit (AQL) is 6.5. 8.3 Type inspection 8.3.1 Type inspection shall be generally carried out in the following cases: HG/T 5751—2020 a) Having major changes of formula or process after regular production, which may affect the products quality; b) Resuming production after stopping for more than six months; c) Having large difference between delivery inspection results and last type inspection results; d) Raising requirements by the state quality supervision bodies or users. 8.3.2 Type inspection items shall include all inspection items specified in Clause 5. 8.3.3 Type inspection shall be carried out according to GB/T 2829. A subsampling scheme of discrimination level II is adopted. The sample size n1=n2=5. The inspection period for each representative product with static shear adhesion is 1 month, the unqualified quality level (RQL) is 65, 180o peel adhesion after damp-heat aging is 3 months, and the unqualified quality level (RQL) is 40.

9 Marking, packaging, transport and storage

9.1 Marking 9.1.1 Marking of adhesive tape The adhesive tape marking shall include the following information: a) Manufacturer's name or trademark; b) Product marking 9.1.2 Marking on packing container Marking on packing container include the following information: a) Manufacturer's name and address; b) Product marking and trademark; c) Quantity (roll), weight and color; d) Production date or manufacturing batch number; e) Marking of moisture-proof, sun-proof, pressure-proof and fire-proof, etc. f) All kinds of markings shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 191 and GB/T 6388, and the information of marks may be increased or decreased as required by users. HG/T 5751—2020 g) Each box of products should be equipped with a product certificate. 9.2 Packaging The products are packed in cartons, and the specific packing requirements shall conform to the supply contract. 9.3 Transport During transport, the products shall be moved gently, avoided placing horizontally and extruding, shall not be mixed with volatile solvent or corrosive item. 9.4 Storage 9.4.1 The product shall be stored in a warehouse with temperature of -5 ℃ to 40 ℃ and relative humidity of 40% to 80%, and without volatile solvent. 9.4.2 In order to prevent deformation, product shall be avoided to place horizontally. 9.4.3 It is not permitted to be stacked directly on wet ground, and the deformation of box is not permitted. 9.4.4 In case of transport and storage in accordance with this standard, the shelf life of the product shall be 1 year from the date of production. ......
