1 Molded products... 3 2 Extruded products... 8 Additional notes... 10 General rules of visual quality for moulded and extruded rubber products This standard specifies the general requirements for various appearance defects of molded and extruded rubber products. This standard does not apply to injection molded products, O-rings, pneumatic tires and inner tubes, hard rubber products, sponge rubber products and film products.

1 Molded products

1.1 Terms 1.1.1 Major defects. Defects that can cause failure or seriously reduce the practical performance of the product. 1.1.2 Minor defects. Defects that have only a slight or almost no effect on the practical performance of the product. 1.1.3 Position No. I defects. Defects that play a major role on the surface of molded products and are related to dimensional tolerances and practical performance. 1.1.4 Position No. II defects. Defects that do not play a major role on the surface of molded products and are not related to dimensional tolerances and practical performance. 1.2 Classification of molded products The specifications and shapes of molded rubber products are diverse, but these products have several basic uses or usage requirements with similar performance and quality requirements. Therefore, according to their actual use and use requirements, they are roughly divided into the following categories. 1.2.1 Flexing resistance The products are mainly used in situations where they are subjected to constant or periodic bending, torsion or flexion during use. 1.2.2 Sealing The products are mainly used in fluid sealing situations. 1.2.3 Blocking The products are mainly used in situations where liquid or gas penetration is prevented. 1.2.4 Matching The products are mainly used in situations where they must be assembled with accessories and have tolerance requirements. 1.2.5 Protection The products are used as outer materials in situations where there is no mechanical stress or mechanical stress is occasionally generated. 1.2.6 Filling The products are used in situations where there is no mechanical stress or mechanical stress is occasionally generated to fill the internal space. 1.2.7 Vibration reduction (buffering) The products are mainly used in situations where vibration reduction, buffering, sound insulation are required. 1.2.8 Others The products are used in other situations except for the above-mentioned uses. 1.3 Defect categories and quality requirements for molded products 1.3.1 Defects of molded products are divided into two categories. major defects and minor defects, according to their performance. 1.3.2 Defect categories and quality requirements for molded products are as specified in Table 1.

2 Extruded products

2.1 Terminology 2.1.1 Major defects. See Article 1.1 of this standard. 2.1.2 Minor defects. See Article 1.2 of this standard. 2.1.3 Position No. III defects. It refers to defects that appear on the sealing surface of the extruded product. 2.1.4 Position No. IV defects. It refers to defects that appear on the visible surface of the non-sealing surface of the extruded product. 2.1.5 Position No. V defects. It refers to defects that appear on the invisible surface of the non-sealing surface of the extruded product. 2.2 Classification of extruded products The specifications and shapes of extruded products are diverse, but there are several basic uses or usage requirements. 2.2.1 Sealing type Used in fluid sealing occasions. 2.2.2 Wrapping type Used in occasions where it plays an intermediate connection role when wrapping materials, gap materials, cushions or similar purposes. 2.2.3 Non-sealing and non-wrapping type Used in occasions where internal gap fillers play an auxiliary role. 2.2.4 Others For use in other applications other than the above three basic uses. 2.3 Defect categories and quality requirements of extruded products 2.3.1 Defects of extruded products are divided into two categories. Major defects and minor defects, according to actual performance. 2.3.2 Defect categories and quality requirements of extruded products are specified in Table 2. ......
