This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 8655-2006 “Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)
1500” and GB/T 12824-2002 “Rubber, styrene-butadiene (SBR) 1502”.
Compared with GB/T 8655-2006, in addition to editorial modifications, main
technical changes as follows:
- modified application scope (see Clause 1 of this Edition, Clause 1 of GB/T
- about normative references, this Standard made adjustment according to
current latest version; see Clause 2 “Normative references” for adjustment
as follows:
• modified all normative refences to current latest version;
• deleted GB/T 6737-1997;
• added GB/T 24131.1-2018, GB/T 24797.1-2009, GB/T 25268-2010;
• modified GB/T 19188 from date reference to non-date reference;
- modified technical requirements (see Table 1 of this Edition, Table 1 of GB/T
- modified inspection rules (see Clause 4 of this Edition, Clause 4 of GB/T
- added marks and accompanying documents (see Clause 5 of this Edition);

Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500, 1502
1 Scope
This Standard specifies requirements and test methods, inspection rules, marks,
packaging, transport and storage for styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)
1500,1502 [i.e., styrene-butadiene rubber, hereinafter referred to as styrene-
butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500, 1502].
This Standard is applicable to styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500 and
styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1502 that take butadiene and styrene as
monomers, compound soap of potassium rosin acid soap and fatty acid soap,
or disproportionated potassium rosin soap as emulsifier, that is produced
through low-temperature emulsion polymerization, where styrene-butadiene
rubber (SBR) 1500 adds color-changing anti-aging agent and styrene-
butadiene rubber (SBR) 1502 adds color non-discoloring anti-aging agent.

GB/T 19187-2016, Sampling procedures for inspection of raw synthetic
All items in Table 1 are type inspection items. Under normal circumstances,
mixed-refining rubber Mooney viscosity, 300% fixed stress, tensile strength,
elongation at break and vulcanization characteristics are tested at least once a
week. Ash content is subjected to type inspection at least once a month.
Exit-factory inspection items for styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500, 1502
are volatile content, organic acid, soap, combined styrene, raw rubber Mooney
4.3 Batching rules and sampling scheme
4.3.1 Batching rules
Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500, 1502 are batched by products of same
production line, of same raw material, of same designation produced by same
technique. Production plant may also batch according to a certain production
cycle. Each batch does not exceed 300t.
Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500, 1502 are inspected and accepted in
4.3.2 Sampling scheme
Conduct sampling according to GB/T 19187-2016. Production inspection can
be sampled online.
4.4 Rules for determination
Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500, 1502 shall be subjected to exit-factory
inspection that is performed by quality inspection department according to test
method specified in this Standard, according to mixed laboratory sample
specified in 3.4 of GB/T 19187-2016. Make determination on product quality
according to inspection results and technical requirements in Table 1.
When any item in exit-factory inspection results fails to meet technical
requirements specified in this Standard, it shall take remained sample for re-
inspection for failed item. If re-inspection results do not meet requirements, it
shall re-sample from double packaging units for re-inspection. Use re-
inspection results as basis for quality determination of this batch of products.
5 Marks and accompanying documents
5.1 On external packaging of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) 1500, 1502,
there shall be obvious mark. Mark contents may include product name,
designation, name of production plant, plant address, registered trademark,
batch number (production date), net content.
