Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the rules provided in GB/T 1.1-2020
Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents.
This document is Part 4 of GB/T 713, Steel plate, sheet and strip for pressure
equipments. The following parts have been issued for GB/T 713:
-- Part 1: General requirements;
-- Part 2: Non-alloy and alloy steel with specified temperature properties;
-- Part 3: Low alloy steel with specified low temperature properties;
-- Part 4: Nickel-alloy steels with specified low temperature properties;
-- Part 5: High manganese steel with specified low temperature properties;
-- Part 6: Quenched and tempered high strength steel;
-- Part 7: Stainless steel and heat resisting steel.
This document replaces GB/T 24510-2017 Nickel alloy steel plates for low temperature
pressure vessels. Compared with GB/T 24510-2017, in addition to structural
adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Add the designation representation (see Chapter 4);
b) Change the order content (see Chapter 5; Chapter 3 of GB/T 24510-2017);
c) Change the thickness allowable deviation type (see Chapter 6; 4.1 of GB/T 24510-
2017);
d) Remove the steel designation 1.5Ni as well as its chemical composition,
mechanical properties and other requirements, and add the steel designation
06Ni7DR as well as its chemical composition, mechanical properties and other
requirements (see 7.1 and 7.4; 5.1 and 5.4 of GB/T 24510-2017);
e) Change the chemical composition of each designation (see 7.1; 5.1 of GB/T
24510-2017);
f) Change the manufacturing method of steel plates (see 7.2; 5.2 of GB/T 24510-
2017);
g) Change the delivery state of steel plates (see 7.3; 5.3 of GB/T 24510-2017);

Nickel-alloy steels with specified low temperature properties
1 Scope
This document specifies the designation representation, order content, size, shape,
weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and
quality certificate, as well as transportation and storage of nickel-alloy steels with
specified low temperature properties for pressure equipment.
This document applies to nickel-alloy steels with specified low temperature properties
(hereinafter referred to as steel plates) with an operating temperature not lower than -
196 °C and a thickness not greater than 150 mm.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 713.1 apply.
4 Designation representation
The designation of steel consists of the average carbon content represented by two digits,
the nickel element symbol and average content, as well as the Chinese pinyin initials
“DR” of “Di” (low) and “Rong” (vessel) for the low temperature pressure vessel.
Example: 06Ni9DR. Where:
06 – average carbon content (in parts per 10,000);
Ni9 – average nickel content, 9%;
DR – the Chinese Pinyin initials of “Di” (low) and “Rong” (vessel).
5 Order content
The order content of steel plates shall comply with the regulations of GB/T 713.1.
6 Size, shape, weight
The size, shape, and weight of steel plates shall comply with the regulations of GB/T
713.1.
7 Technical requirements
7.1 Designation and chemical composition
7.1.1 The designation and chemical composition (melting analysis) of steels shall
comply with the requirements in Table 1. See Appendix A for a comparison of similar
designations between this document and relevant foreign standards.
9 Inspection rules
9.1 Inspection and acceptance
The inspection and acceptance of steel plates shall be carried out by the supplier’s
quality inspection department.
9.2 Batch
9.2.1 08Ni3DR shall be accepted in batches. Each batch shall be composed of steel
plates of the same designation, furnace number, thickness and heat treatment system.
The weight of each batch shall not exceed 30 t. Steel plates with a single weight of more
than 30 t shall be batched in a single piece.
9.2.2 07Ni5DR, 06Ni7DR, 06Ni9DR shall be batched by heat treatment pieces.
9.3 Sampling quantity and sampling method
The sampling quantity and sampling method of each batch of steel plates shall comply
with the provisions of Table 3.
9.4 Re-inspection and determination rules
The re-inspection and determination rules of steel plates shall comply with the
provisions of GB/T 713.1.
9.5 Numerical rounding
Numerical rounding shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 713.1.
10 Packaging, marking, quality certificates, as well as
transportation and storage
10.1 The packaging, marking and quality certificate of steel plates shall comply with
the regulations of GB/T 713.1.
10.2 The quality certificate shall indicate the tempering temperature. When requested
by the buyer, the actual heat treatment process can be indicated.
10.3 The surface anti-corrosion and transportation requirements of steel plates shall be
stipulated in the agreement between the supplier and the buyer.
10.4 Steel plates with qualified residual magnetism cannot be lifted by electromagnets.
Steel plates cannot be stored near high-voltage electricity and high-voltage electrical
equipment, cannot be transported by electrified railways, and cannot be stored in other
environments that may affect the level of residual magnetism.
