Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaced GB/T 5462-2003 Industrial Salt. Compared with GB/T
5462-2003 Industrial Salt, in addition to some editorial modifications, this Standard
mainly has the following technical changes.
--- Modify the scope;
--- Add the terms and definitions;
--- Increase the wet salt varieties of the refined Industrial salt;
--- Improve the sodium chloride, water indicators to a certain degree.
This Standard was proposed by China Light Industry Council.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee for
Standardization of Salt Industry (SAC/TC 295).

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, technical
requirements, test methods, batch and sampling, inspection rules, package, label,
transportation and storage of the Industrial salt.
This Standard is applicable to the salt excavated from seawater (including the coastal
underground brine), or the Industrial salt produced with salt lake brine, rock salt or
underground brine as the raw materials.

6 Test methods
6.1 Determination of the senses
