The micrometer should meet.
a) When the sample thickness is ≥ 0.25mm, the resolution is ≤ 0.01mm;
b) When the sample thickness is <0.25mm, the resolution is ≤0.001mm.
6.9 HB support fixture
The HB support fixture is used to detect non-self-supporting specimens (see Figure 2).
6.10 Drying box
The drying oven should be filled with anhydrous calcium chloride or other desiccant to maintain the temperature at 23 °C ± 2 °C and the relative humidity not exceeding 20%.
6.11 Air circulation oven
The air circulation oven shall be capable of providing a temperature environment of 70 ° C ± 2 ° C, unless otherwise stated in the relevant specifications, the air exchange per hour shall be not less than
5 times.
6.12 cotton pad
Cotton pads should be made of absorbent cotton designated "100% cotton" or "pure cotton".

7 sample
7.1 Preparation of samples
Specimens shall be prepared by appropriate ISO methods such as ISO 294 casting and injection molding, ISO 293 or ISO 295 compression molding or compression molding.
Make the shape you want. If this is not possible, the specimen should be made using the same manufacturing process as the molded part; if not,
Samples can be cut from representative molded parts of the finished product.
Note. If the sample cannot be prepared by the above method, consider using other alternative flame test methods (eg IEC 60695-11-5 needle flame method).
For any cutting process, all dust and particles on the surface should be carefully removed after finishing; and the edges of the slits should be smoothed with fine sandpaper.

7.2 Size of the sample
The dimensions of the strip specimen are. length 125mm ± 5mm, width 13.0mm ± 0.5mm, and at least the minimum sum should be provided in consideration of combustion classification.
Maximum thickness (see Figure 4). Preferred thickness values include 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.4mm, 0.75mm, 1.5mm, 3.0mm, 6.0mm
And/or 12.0mm.
Note 1. The gauges in Figures 9 and 10 can be used to confirm the appropriate sample size.
The thickness of the sample should not exceed 13.0 mm. In addition, other thicknesses may be used according to the agreement, and if so, they should be noted in the test report.
The edge of the specimen shall be smooth and the corner radius shall not exceed 1.3 mm.
At least 6 strip samples should be prepared for method A and at least 20 strip samples for method B.
Thickness measurement The center position of the sample is measured using a measuring scale, and the thickness values of the middle and both ends of the sample are measured with a micrometer.
For rigid specimens, the thickness shall be measured in accordance with ISO 16012. When using a ratchet micrometer, the speed of closing the micrometer should be

7.3 Material Testing - Formulation Range
7.3.1 Summary
On different samples of color, thickness, density, molecular weight, anisotropy and type, or with different additives or fillers/enhancers

7.3.2 Density, melt flow and filler/enhancer
If all tests yield the same flame test grading results, the density, melt flow, and filler/enhancer content are extreme values.

7.3.3 Color
If all the tests yield the same flame test grading results, the samples with the highest content of natural color and organic/inorganic pigments can be substituted.

The sample should be.
a) non-pigmented;
b) containing the highest content of organic pigments/colorants/dyes and/or carbon black;
c) containing the highest content of inorganic pigments;
d) Contains pigments/colorants/dyes that are known to have an adverse effect on the combustion characteristics.
Otherwise, samples of different colors should be evaluated and graded.
8 Test method A-level burning test
8.1 Condition adjustment and test environmental conditions
8.1.1 Summary
Unless otherwise specified in the relevant specifications, the following requirements shall apply.
8.1.2 "Standard state" adjustment of the sample
Two sets of three strip samples should be adjusted for at least 48 h at a temperature of 23 ° C ± 2 ° C and a relative humidity of 50 % ± 10% (see
ISO 291..2008, Chapter 2, Table 2, Level 2). After the sample has been removed from the condition adjustment box (see 6.7), the test should be completed within 30 minutes.
8.1.3 Test environmental conditions
All samples shall be tested in a laboratory environment with a temperature of 15 ° C to 35 ° C and a relative humidity of not more than 75%.
8.2 Test procedure
8.2.1 Sample mark
Three samples should be tested. Each sample shall be marked with two marks at 25mm ± 1mm and 100mm ± 1mm from the ignition end.

8.2.2 Installation of the sample
The sample is clamped at the end farthest from the 25mm mark line, so that the long axis of the sample is placed horizontally, and the horizontal axis is inclined at an angle of 45°±2°, as shown in Fig. 1.

The support jig is placed on the wire mesh to support the sample so that the elongated portion of the support jig is about 10 mm ± 1 mm from the free end of the sample.
Allow sufficient clearance at the clamped end of the specimen so that the support clamp can move freely laterally.
8.2.3 Flame device
Place the burner (see 6.2) away from the specimen and make the center axis of the burner tube vertical. Adjust the burner to produce a match.
50W standard test flame as specified in IEC 60695-11-4. The flame should be confirmed when.
a) when there is a change in the gas supply;
b) when there is a change in any test equipment and/or parameters;
c) A disputed situation.
However, the flame should be confirmed at least once a month. Wait at least 5 minutes for the burner conditions to equilibrate.
8.2.4 Application of flame and use of HB support fixture

8.2.5 Methods and observations
If the sample continues to flame after removal of the test flame, the elapsed time t (accuracy to s) should be recorded, for the flame front from 25mm
When the marking line propagates through the 100mm marking line, the damage length L should be recorded as 75mm. If the flame front exceeds 25mm mark
Line but no more than 100mm mark line, record the elapsed time t (accuracy to s) and 25mm mark line and flame front stop

Experiment with two new samples. The contents of the laboratory fume hood should be removed after each test.
If one of the first three samples does not meet the specifications shown in 8.4.2 and 8.4.3, then the other three samples are tested.
All samples in the second group shall comply with all indicators specified in the relevant level.
8.3 Calculation
For each sample with a flame front exceeding 100 mm mark, calculate the linear burning rate v in millimeters per minute using equation (1)

8.4 Classification
8.4.1 Summary
Materials should be classified according to the following criteria. HB, HB40 or HB75 (HB = horizontal combustion).
Note. The preferred level should be HB or HB40, and the HB75 level will be deleted in the next version.
8.4.2 HB level
Class HB materials should meet one of the following criteria.
a) After the ignition source is removed, the material no longer has obvious flaming combustion;
b) If the ignition source is removed, the material continues to burn and the flame front does not exceed the 100 mm mark line;
c) If the flame front exceeds the 100mm mark line.
1) For materials with a thickness of 3.0mm~13.0mm, the linear burning rate does not exceed 40mm/min;
2) for materials having a thickness of less than 3.0 mm, the linear burning rate does not exceed 75 mm/min;
For samples with a thickness of 1.5~3.2mm, if the linear burning rate does not exceed 40mm/min, the test thickness should be automatically considered
The degree is up to the HB level up to a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm.
8.4.3 HB40 level
HB40 grade materials should meet one of the following criteria.
a) After the ignition source is removed, the material no longer has obvious flaming combustion;
b) If the ignition source is removed, the material continues to burn and the flame front does not exceed the 100 mm mark line;
c) If the flame front exceeds the 100mm marking line, the linear burning rate does not exceed 40mm/min.
8.4.4 HB75 level
HB75 grade materials should meet one of the following criteria.
a) After the ignition source is removed, the material no longer has obvious flaming combustion;
b) If the ignition source is removed, the material continues to burn and the flame front does not exceed the 100 mm mark line;
c) If the flame front exceeds the 100mm marking line, the linear burning rate does not exceed 75mm/min.
8.5 Test report
The test report should include the following.
a) a reference to this section;
b) all required details related to the product under test, including the manufacturer's name, product number or code, and product color;
c) Thickness of the sample.
● Samples with a sample thickness of ≥1.0mm, accurate to 0.01mm,
● Samples with a sample thickness <1.0mm, accurate to 0.001mm;
d) nominal apparent density (only for hard microporous materials);
e) the direction of the anisotropy associated with the size of the specimen;
f) method for adjusting the state of the sample;
g) all treatments prior to testing, except for cutting, trimming and conditioning;
h) whether the sample continues to have a record of flame combustion after the test flame is applied;
i) whether the flame front exceeds the record of 25mm and 100mm marking lines;
j) For samples with a flame front exceeding 25 mm mark but not exceeding 100 mm mark, the elapsed time t and
Damage length L;
k) for the sample whose flame front reaches or exceeds the 100 mm mark line, record its average linear burning rate v;
l) Whether to use a support fixture for flexible specimens;
m) in conjunction with the relevant thickness specification level, for example.

9 Test method B-vertical burning test
9.1 Condition adjustment and test environmental conditions
9.1.1 Summary
Unless otherwise specified in the relevant specifications, the following requirements shall apply.
9.1.2 "Standard state" adjustment of the sample

All samples shall be tested in a laboratory environment with a temperature of 15 ° C ~ 35 ° C and a relative humidity of 40% ~ 75%.
9.2 Test procedure
9.2.1 Installation of specimens
The long axis of the specimen was placed vertically and clamped within 6 mm of its upper end. The lower end of the specimen should be above the horizontal cotton pad (see 6.12)
