Ministry ofHousing and Urban-Rural Development ofthe People 's Republic of China May 31 , 2010 Foreword This code was revised based on "Standard for Inspection and Evaluation of Thermal Insulating Work of Industrial Equipment and Pipeline" GB 50185-93 by the China Petroleum & Chemical Engineering Survey and Design Association and National Administrative Center of Standardization of Chemical Construction in conjunction with the departments concerned according to the requirements of "Notice on Printing the Development and Revision Plan of Engineering Construction Standards and Codes in 2006" issued by the former Ministry of Construction. During the process of revising this code, the code development team revised, examined and finalized based this code on extensively soliciting for opinions by wide investigation and study, earnestly summarizing the practical experiences and making reference to the relevant international standards and foreign advanced standards. This code comprises nine chapters and five appendixes, which mainly covers. general provisions, terms, basic requirement, material, attachment installation, construction quality acceptance of heat insulating layer, construction quality acceptance of dampproof course, construction quality acceptance check of protective course, and acceptance of project, etc .. There have been some significant changes in this code in the following technical aspects. Provision on term of"inspection lot" was added. 2 Provisions on the quality acceptance of "inspection lot" were added and requirements on the measured values at the random inspection points of allowable deviation among the inspection lot were increased. 3 Chapter 4 "material" was added, and the contents on the site sampling and inspection of all kinds of materials were adjusted appropriately. 4 Chapter of "attachment installation" was added. 5 Provisions on quality acceptance of the heat insulating layers of "embedded layering method", "smear method", "metallic reflective insulating structure" and "pipe-in-pipe" were added. 6 Section of "protective course made of felt, foil and cloth" was deleted and section of "nonmetallic protective course" was added . Provisions printed in bold type in this code are compulsory and must be enforced strictly.
