Specification for Truck-Mounted Concrete Pump
Maintenance, Repair and Scrap
1 Scope
This Document specifies the general requirements for the maintenance, repair and scrap of the
concrete pump truck (hereinafter referred to as the pump truck), the requirements for daily
maintenance and regular maintenance, as well as the requirements for the change and
maintenance of key components.
This Document applies to pump trucks.
2 Normative References
This Document has no normative references.
3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Mobile concrete pump with placing boom
Mechanical equipment for the simultaneous installation of a concrete pump and a placing boom
on a self-propelled chassis or on a trailer.
[SOURCE: GB/T 7920.4-2016, 2.4.1.2, with modifications]
3.2 Upper structure
The part of the pump truck except for the Class-II chassis that has been finalized.
[SOURCE: QC/T 718-2013, 3.13, with modifications]
3.3 Key component
The upper structure components whose serious failure during use shall endanger the safety of
equipment and personal.
3.4 Repair
maintenance of the pump truck shall be carried out according to the requirements of the pump
truck manufacturer; and the chassis shall be maintained according to the requirements of the
chassis manufacturer.
4.2 The pump truck that has been out of use for more than one month shall be maintained once
before being reused.
4.3 On-site safety protection measures shall be implemented during on-site maintenance
operations to ensure operational safety. On-site professional maintenance personnel shall be no
less than 2; and special operators with certification requirements shall be certified to work.
4.4 If the high-strength bolts used for connection are loosened or reassembled, they shall be
tightened with a torque wrench. The tightening torque of each type of connection thread shall
meet the requirements of Appendix A. High-strength connecting bolts and nuts disassembled
for structural maintenance shall not be used again; and new connecting bolts and nuts of the
same grade shall be used for reassembly.
4.5 When the key component fails, it shall be shut down immediately for repair or replacement;
after repair or replacement, it shall be operated according to the relevant provisions of the
manufacturer, and check whether the equipment is running normally.
4.6 The key components such as boom, connecting rod, bottom frame and outrigger shall be
welded by qualified personnel appointed by the equipment manufacturer.
4.7 The welding consumables for welding maintenance, materials replacement and
maintenance procedures shall be approved in written by the manufacturer or professional
maintenance personnel.
4.8 The maintenance of structural welds shall be recorded in the equipment file; and the
equipment operator shall check it before starting each shift to confirm that there is no
abnormality. The same weld repair shall not exceed 3 times, otherwise its components shall be
scrapped.
4.9 The electrical wiring on the equipment shall not be modified without permission.
4.10 Solid waste generated during maintenance shall be collected and stored centrally; the
remaining or discarded lubricating oil (grease) and hydraulic oil shall be placed in containers
and properly disposed of.
5 Daily Maintenance
5.1 Daily inspection shall be carried out in accordance with Appendix B for each shift; and parts
and components shall be visually inspected for cracks or damage according to Appendix C. The
remaining parts and components shall be subject to daily maintenance according to the
Maintenance Manual provided by the manufacturer. In order to ensure the inspection effect,
the following actions shall be ensured before inspection:
a) Clean up the rubbish, snow and other obstacles on the pump truck;
b) Clean up oil stains and sundries on each working mechanism.
5.2 Any found abnormality shall be dealt with in time; so that the pump truck can reach the
normal operation state.
5.3 The inspection and processing results are recorded in Appendix D.
6 Professional Daily Maintenance
6.1 In order to ensure the strict implementation of daily maintenance of the pump truck, the
user of the pump truck should establish a maintenance ledger (including but not limited to data
such as pumping time and pumping volume). Users shall not modify the pumping data of the
pump truck equipment without permission.
6.2 The interval of professional daily maintenance is determined by the service life of the
equipment, the cumulative pumping time, and the cumulative pumping volume.
6.3 For the equipment with delivery of the whole machine no more than 5 years, or the
cumulative pumping time no more than 5000h, or the cumulative pumping concrete no more
than 300000m3, whichever comes first, it shall be implemented according to the following
inspection cycle and inspection requirements.
a) Inspection cycle: every full year, or every 1000h pumped, or every 60000m3 of concrete
pumped, whichever comes first.
b) Inspection requirements: go to a professional maintenance agency or professional
maintenance personnel for inspection and maintenance according to the requirements of
Appendix C.
6.4 For the equipment with the delivery of the whole machine more than 5 years and less than
or equal to 8 years, or the cumulative pumping time more than 5000h and less than or equal to
6800h, or the cumulative pumping concrete more than 300000m3 and less than or equal to
420000m3, whichever comes first, it shall be implemented according to the following inspection
cycle and inspection requirements.
a) Inspection cycle: every full year, or every 650h of pumped, or every 40000m3 of concrete
pumped, whichever comes first.
b) Inspection requirements: go to a professional maintenance agency or professional
maintenance personnel for inspection and maintenance according to the requirements of
Appendix C.
