This standard specifies the general method for electromagnetic ultrasonic surface wave testing, which is used to detect surface openings and buried depths not less than the surface wave wavelength

4 Method summary
4.1 Detection principle
Electromagnetic ultrasonic surface wave detection uses a vertical permanent magnet bias magnetic field (shown in Figure 1) or a horizontal AC bias magnetic field to match the surface wave
The probe of the reflex coil (shown in Figure 2) with a periodic wavelength, using the principle of electro-magnetic-acoustic interaction to excite and receive the ultrasonic meter on the surface of the material
Surface wave. When surface wave encounters a discontinuity, reflection, diffraction or transmission attenuation occurs, and it is detected by the change of reflection signal, transmission signal or diffraction signal.
Measure the position and size of the discontinuity.
