Foreword
This Part of GB/T 3903 identically adopts the International Standard ISO
17703.2003 Footwear - Test methods for uppers - High temperature behaviour
(English version). They are exactly identical in technical content. This Part of
GB/T 3903 only makes the following editorial modifications.
a) modified “this European Standard” to “this Part of GB/T 3903” (Translator
Note. Original text in Chinese is European Standard);
b) used decimal point “.” to replace “,” which was used as decimal point;
c) deleted the foreword of ISO 17703.2003;
d) deleted the table of contents of ISO 17703.2003;
e) directly used a national standard as reference which is corresponding to
EN 12222, an EN standard that was used as reference in ISO
17703.2003;
f) modified prEN 13522 to ISO 17706 in Clause 2 of this Part because EN
13522 has been officially published of which the standard number is EN
13522.2001; the corresponding International standard number is ISO
17706.2003;
g) deleted appendix of ISO 17703.2003;
h) deleted bibliography of ISO 17703.2003.
This Part was proposed by China Light Industry Association.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on
Footwear of Standardization Administration of China.
The drafting organizations of this Part. China Institute of Leather and Footwear
Industry, Putian Entry - Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of People's
Republic of China.

1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 3903 specifies a test method for determining the effect of heat
on the tensile strength of uppers or complete upper assembly, in order to assess
the suitability for the end use.
This Part is applicable to uppers irrespective of the material.
2 Normative references
The following standards contain the provisions which, through reference in this
Part of GB/T 3903, constitute the provisions of this Part. For dated references,
subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to
this Part. However, the parties who enter into agreement based on this Part are
encouraged to investigate whether the latest versions of these documents are
applicable. For undated reference documents, the latest versions apply to this
Part.
