Lanthanum cerium-magnesium alloy
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and
marking, packing, transport, storage, and quality certificate of lanthanum
cerium-magnesium alloy.
This Standard is applicable to the lanthanum cerium-magnesium alloy prepared
by the smelting method with lanthanum cerium metal as raw material, which is
mainly used for the production of 3C electronic thin-walled products, as well as
the main additive for rare earth magnesium alloys such as automobile engine
block, gearbox housing heat-resistant parts, and fuel tank bottom shell die-
casting.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
For the dated references, only the versions with the dates indicated are
applicable to this document. For the undated references, the latest version
(including all the amendments) are applicable to this document.

3 Requirements
3.1 Product designation
The product, according to chemical composition, is divided into six designations.
LaCeMg-30A, LaCeMg-30B, LaCeMg-25A, LaCeMg-25B, LaCeMg-20A,
LaCeMg-20B. The designation system for the products shall comply with the
5.4.2 When sampling for chemical composition analysis, firstly, POLISH the
sample; and USE a drill with a diameter of 5 mm~10 mm to drill more than 3
points equidistant on each of upper and lower surfaces of the alloy ingot,
DISCARD the drillings 0.5 mm~1.0 mm from the surface of the ingot; then,
DRILL the sample, the sample amount is not less than 10 g; the obtained
sample is quickly mixed and reduced to the required amount, and immediately
sealed and preserved.
5.4.3 The methods of sampling and sample preparation for the inspection of
new section and appearance quality shall be determined by negotiation
between the supplier and the buyer.
5.5 Judgment of inspection results
5.5.1 If the analysis results of chemical composition are inconsistent with the
provisions of this Standard, from the lot of products, double samples shall be
taken for repeated tests. If there is still any unqualified item, the lot shall be
judged as unqualified.
5.5.2 If the new section inspection is unqualified, the lot of products shall be
directly judged as unqualified. If the inspection results of appearance quality are
inconsistent with the provisions of this Standard, the inspection piece by piece
is allowed; and the qualified products shall be delivered.
6 Marking, packing, transport, storage, and quality
certificate
6.1 Marking, packing
6.1.1 The packing drum (case) shall be marked with a clear fadeless mark,
which indicates.
a) Supplier name;
b) Product name;
c) Designation, lot number, net weight, gross weight;
d) Exit-factory date;
e) “Moisture-proof” sign or typeface.
6.1.2 After the product is vacuum-sealed in a plastic bag, the outer packing
drum is generally an iron drum or a wooden drum. The packing form can also
be determined by negotiation between the supplier and the buyer.
