This Standard is applicable to child restraint system products of power-driven vehicles sold within the territory of China. 2 Normative References The following documents are indispensable to the application of this Standard. In terms of references with a specified date, only versions with a specified date are applicable to this Standard. The latest version (including all the modifications) of references without a specified date is also applicable to this Standard. GB 6675.4 Safety of Toys - Party 4. Migration of Certain Elements GB 27887 Restraining Devices for Child Occupants of Power-driven Vehicles ISO 2575.2004-Z.01 Road Vehicles - Symbols for Controls, Indicators and Tell- tales 3 Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions, as well as terms and definitions provided in GB 27887 are applicable to this Standard. 3.1 Production Label for Child Restraint System Production label for child restraint system refers to label that’s adopted to indicate relevant information of child restraint system products. 4 Content of Production Label 4.1 Production Label Shall Include. path of safety belt in accordance with the method indicated in the figure. If child restraint system is fixed through adult’s safety belt, indicate the path of safety belt with colors. If this system faces forward, the color shall be red; if this system faces backward, the color shall be blue. There shall be clarified differences between the path of shoulder belt and waist belt of the safety belt. The modes of color, character or shape can be adopted for differentiation. The installation instruction figure of any product shall indicate the direction of the child restraint system relative to the vehicle. Vehicle seats shall be indicated in the belt installation figure. c) During the installation of child restraint system in vehicle, the label shall be visible. As to Group 0 of child restraint system, when a child is sitting inside the child restraint system, this label shall also be visible. d) If there’s another alternative restraint mode for children, the stress point of child restraint system that links up adult’s safety belt and this alternative restraint mode shall be clearly indicated. This label shall indicate that this is an alternative restraint mode, and it shall respectively satisfy the color requirement of forward and backward seat. The illustration of this alternative restraint mode shall be included in the label and the instruction for usage. 4.2.2.3 “Warning information” indicates matters needing attention during the application of the child restraint system. It shall include j) as specified in 4.1, and indicate the following information. a) Child restraint system that can be applied both forward and backward shall indicate the following information. “important -- it shall not be applied forward before child’s weight exceeds XX (please refer to the instruction for usage)”. b) Warning information of backward child restraint system belongs to one of the content of “warning information”. However, it shall be separately indicated in the area where child’s head shall be placed in the child restraint system in accordance with the requirements in GB 27887. A warning label indicated in Figure 4 shall be pasted to the internal visible surface (including both sides near the head). This label shall satisfy stipulations in GB 27887. consistent with GB 6675.4. 6.3 The label shall be permanently fixed and easily visible to seat installers; the content of the label shall still be recognizable after the test described in 7.1. 6.4 After temperature test of paper label and metal label in accordance with the method described in 7.2, the label cannot be lifted up, and shall be easily readable. 6.5 After tensile test of fabric sewing label in accordance with the method described in 7.3, the label shall not be pulled off. 7 Performance Test Methods 7.1 Wiping-resistance Test Use cotton that’s soaked with clear water and wipe the surface of label for 20 times under pressure that’s ≥10 N. Dry it, then, use cotton that’s soaked with undiluted household detergent (non-concentrated laundry detergent) to wipe the surface of label for 20 times under pressure that’s ≥10 N. Observe changes of the content of label. 7.2 Temperature Test 7.2.1 Room temperature Place components or assembled child restraint system (with label) under room temperature 23 °C ± 2°C, relative humidity 50% ± 10% for 24 h. Make attempts to lift the label without using any tools or solvent. 7.2.2 High temperature Place components or assembled child restraint system (with label) in a test chamber under 80 °C ± 2°C, relative humidity 65% ± 5% for 24 h. Take it out, then, place under room temperature 23 °C ± 2°C for 24 h. Make attempts to lift the label without using any tools or solvent. 7.2.3 Low temperature Place components or assembled child restraint system (with label) in a test chamber under -30 °C ± 2°C for 24 h. Take it out, then, place under room temperature 23 °C ± 2°C for 24 h. Make attempts to lift the label without using any tools or solvent. 7.2.4 Cyclic aging Place components or assembled child restraint system (with label) in a test chamber under ambient temperature ≥ 80 °C for over 24 h. Take it out and cool it down to room temperature 23 °C ± 2°C. After the cooling process, immediately start 3 successive 24 h cycle.
