Passenger detection device for vehicle seat belt reminder
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods,
and inspection rules for the passenger detection device for vehicle seat belt
reminder mounted in a car seat (hereinafter referred to as “passenger detection
device”).
This Standard is applicable to the passenger detection devices in the front
passenger seats of Class M1 vehicles. For the passenger detection devices in
other seats of Class M1 vehicles and those on other types of vehicles, this
Standard can be referred to for implementation.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For
dated references, only the editions with the dates indicated are applicable to
this document. For undated references, only the latest editions (including all the
amendments) are applicable to this document.

electronic products -- Part 2. Test methods -- Test Db. Damp heat, cyclic (12h
+ 12h cycle) (IEC 60068-2-30)

accommodation
3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined by GB/T 24551 and the following ones are
applicable to this document.
3.1 Passenger detection device
A device for detecting the occupancy of a seat, consisting of a detection unit
and a connection harness.
4.4 Flame retardant requirements
The flame retardant requirements of the product shall comply with the
provisions of GB 8410.
5 Test methods
5.1 Test environment
The room temperature environment is defined as temperature of (25 ± 3) °C
and relative humidity of (45 ~ 75) %.
5.2 Detection function
5.2.1 Test devices
The test devices used for the detection function test include.
a) The detection object is a Hybrid III 5th percentile female dummy, with a
height of (1 499 ± 2.54) mm and a weight of (49 ± 0.91) kg and/or 5th
percentile female with a height of 1 424mm to 1 574mm and a weight of
46.55kg to 51.45kg;
b) detection device;
c) matching car seat.
5.2.2 Test procedures
5.2.2.1 MOUNT the specimens in matched car seats at a temperature of (25
± 3) °C, (-40 ± 2) °C and (55 ± 2) °C for at least 6h, respectively. After storing in
each temperature condition, KEEP the seat in this temperature environment
until the test is completed. The seats stored under low-temperature and high-
temperature environments are allowed to be removed from the temperature
environment box and tested at room temperature. However, the test shall be
completed within 15min.
5.2.2.2 PLACE the seat on the test bench. CONNECT the sample to the
detection device. When it is first confirmed that the seat is in a vacant state, the
detection device displays that the seat is not occupied.
5.2.2.3 PLACE the dummy or the real person to sit at the H point. RECORD
the output of the detection device at this time.
5.2.2.4 REFER to Figure 1 for minimum detection area. MOVE the detection
object or real person forward by 50mm. RECORD the output of the detection
device at this time.
5.2.2.5 REFER to Figure 1 for minimum detection area. MOVE the detection
at room temperature.
5.5.2.2 PLACE the seat on the test bench in accordance with the actual
vehicle installation. ADJUST to the design reference position. USE a
hemispherical head with a diameter of 100mm. APPLY a pressure of 750N
vertically at a frequency of 0.5Hz. The number of cycles is 5 000 (per pressure
position).
5.5.2.3 SELECT two to three pressure positions. The area where the
passenger detection device is easily bent, deformed or displaced shall be
selected.
5.6 Simulated human body entry-exit seat durability test
5.6.1 Test devices
The test devices used for the simulated human body entry-exit seat durability
test include.
a) dummy hip test piece (the 50th percentile male dummy hip selected
according to SAEJ826);
b) timer;
c) professional hydraulic or pneumatic equipment;
d) matching car seat.
5.6.2 Test procedures
5.6.2.1 ASSEMBLE the specimen in a matching car seat. PERFORM the test
at room temperature.
5.6.2.2 PLACE the seat on the test bench in accordance with the actual
vehicle installation. ADJUST to the design reference position. PLACE the
dummy hip test piece on the seat. APPLY a pressure of 750N vertically at a
frequency of 1/8 Hz. The number of cycles is 25 000.
5.6.2.3 During each cycle, PLACE the dummy hip test piece in the position 2
first (as shown in Figure 5). The middle axis of the dummy hip forms a 45° angle
with the X axis. LOAD and ROTATE the dummy hip so that the middle axis of
the dummy hip coincides with the symmetrical centerline of the seat. The
dummy hip is then moved from position 2 to position 3, and from position 3 back
to position 2. Then, ROTATE it in the opposite direction by 45° to unload it.
g) leather cleaner;
h) soap water (concentration. 10g/L);
i) coffee;
j) glass cleaner.
5.9.3 Test procedures
5.9.3.1 PREPARE 10 specimens. PREPARE 10 chemical containers,
containing 250mL of chemical reagent specified in 5.9.2, respectively.
5.9.3.2 SPRAY 250mL of eight reagents, namely orange, alcohol, artificial
sweat, urine, cola, leather cleaner, coffee, and glass cleaner, on eight
specimens, respectively. USE a brush to brush 250mL of liquid reagents,
namely oil and soap water, onto two other specimens, respectively. SPRAY or
BRUSH each chemical reagent on the front and back surfaces of each
specimen. The process requires at least 15s.
5.9.3.3 PLACE the specimens contaminated with orange juice, artificial sweat,
urine, cola, leather cleaner, coffee, glass cleaner, and soap water in a
temperature controller at 70°C for 24h. PLACE the specimens contaminated
with alcohol and oil at a room temperature of (25 ± 3) °C for 24h.
5.9.3.4 ASSEMBLE each specimen into a matching car seat. PERFORM the
functional test in acco......
